Summer 2020 Visa Document Issuance Update
As announced by Chancellor Khosla on April 9th, UC San Diego will be delivering all instruction for Summer 2020 by remote means. What does this mean for international graduate students and their program start date as listed on the Form I-20/DS-2019 who plan to enroll in the summer?

  • Any international graduate who is enrolled in a required early start program (summer prep, boot camp, etc.) will still receive an I-20 or DS-2019 document from ISPO with your special summer program start date reflected
  • Students will be able to participate in remote instruction for their summer program as planned, unless this was cancelled by the department running the program (check with that department directly if you believe this is the case).
  • If you know you will be unable to obtain a visa in time to enter the U.S. by your summer program start date, you may request to have your I-20/DS-2019 updated with a Fall 2020 start date by using the iPortal’s NEW ADMIT: I-20/DS-2019 Amendment/Reprint Request.
  • Select the service: “Since applying for my I-20/DS-2019, details regarding my program, funding, or biographical information have changed.”
IMPORTANT: Fall 2020 Attendance Survey
The International Students & Programs Office is gathering information from all of its newly-admitted   international students about whether they plan to attend UC San Diego remotely (online) or in person this fall. With this information, we can provide better support and more tailored programs and resources for you.
