iTRACE UNIVERSITY
THE ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM FROM TRACEY TECHNOLOGIES
Greetings!

In today's session of iTrace U we reinforce yesterday's session that presented the concept of lens compensation and offer an 8 minute presentation given by Dr. Warren Hill discussing a case where the iTrace helped him understand a post-op problem patient by indicating that prior to cataract surgery, the original surgeon didn’t realize the patient's crystalline lens was compensating for corneal high order aberrations.

THINGS TO LOOK FOR IN THIS TEACHING:
Sorsby’s theory of emmetropisation from 1953, a dog named Zernicke, Opposite vector coma @ equal magnitude….Dr. Hill’s comments that EVERY patient for which he is considering surgery has an iTrace run before decisions are made.

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHILE YOU ARE WATCHING:
  • When you have patients that are not happy with their outcomes, what do you look at optically? What do you look at Structurally?
  • When patients have asymmetrical astigmatism on their Cornea and yet refract crisply, are you automatically thinking of Lens Compensation?

THINGS TO CONSIDER STUDYING IN YOUR PRACTICE:
  • What is the incidence in your practice of lens compensation for Astigmatism? For HOA’s?
