Greetings!
We are asked occasionally if the iTrace's Toric Planner and other screens can help with ICLs. Ray Sievert discusses this topic in today's iTrace U
session
. With some understanding and careful use pre-operatively and then again post-operatively, the iTrace can help you achieve success with ICLs.
THINGS TO LOOK FOR IN THIS TEACHING:
White to White measurements are needed for proper sizing of the Implantable Collamer Lens. The toric check is valid under certain assumptions for post-op axis location.
THINGS TO CONSIDER WHILE YOU ARE WATCHING:
Do you implant ICL’s? Even if you don’t it is important to understand all the uses of your machine so if you have a referred patient who has been operated on elsewhere, you will know how to assess and improve your patient’s quality of vision.
THINGS TO CONSIDER STUDYING IN YOUR PRACTICE:
Quality of vision measurements are the most reliable way to consider how to improve quality of vision. Are you willing and able to map all post-op patients and reliably record their quality of vision? Study the results of these tests and compare them to the subjective reports of patient satisfaction.
