THREE NEW BLOGS ON RESILIENCE

Overview of Content

This newsletter first introduces three blogs that all relate to building resilience. Each is relevant to well-being during the pandemic. We are also presenting with amazing partners this month. Estefania Lopez (OWLS own Research Associate) describes her journey of setting healthy boundaries in the face of negativity. Regina Novak (Health & Well-Being Specialist) shares her awakening to gratitude while in quarantine. These first two blogs reveal courage through vulnerability. Sometimes our vulnerability also means reaching out for help. The third entry is OWLS second guest blog for ONEMIND™ PsyberGuide . We briefly review evidence-informed Digital Mental Health (DMH) resources for the workplace . Many workers are turning to DMH as a result of COVID-related stress. It is good to know that some DMH resources may be better than others.

Re-imagining Team-Level and Leader Mental Well-Being A Story of Thriving We are always communicating, engaging with each other and our customers. In this session participants will follow an organization’s 30-month journey in identifying communication challenges and the development of skills to sustain a culture of well-being. Participants will learn how to build strategies and skills for communication that promote mental well-being in their own organizations. Participants will receive a worksheet to support them on their own transformational journey. Presenters Desiree Reynolds , MPH, MCHES®; Ruth Gassman , PhD; (from PREVENTION INSIGHTS at the Indiana University School of Public Health ); and Joel Bennett , PhD, CWP Workplace Dissemination and Adaption of Evidence-Based Resilience Challenges and Successes in Two Case Studies The growth of resilience programming is fraught with many challenges (ambiguous definition, poor internal marketing, and integration with behavioral health/EAP). These can be overcome through evidence-based content and local adaptation that empowers true culture-fit. You will hear from facilitators who have successfully implemented a resilience curriculum in diverse settings: a military base, and a medium-sized corporation. Following case studies, participants will receive guidance on adapting resilience programs in their own settings.
