Band of Heathens This month the Narrows Center for the Arts presents their 4th Annual Winter Blues Festival on 1/13-1/14. Friday's line-up includes Eric Gales Band, Davina and the Vagabonds, Nick Schnebelen and Jimmy Bez Blues Band. On Saturday catch Elexis P. Suter Band, Dan LawsonDavy Knowles, Mark T. Small and the Black Cadillac Trio.  Later this month are Junior Brown on 1/25, Band of Heathens (new favorite discovered at Cayamo '15) on 1/26, Bettye Lavette on 1/27 and Matthew Stubbs. & The Antiguas with The Silks on 1/28. Sandywoods Music  hosts the Magnola Cajun Band on 1/7,  Naming the Twins on 1/14.

Sugar Blood Jinx Right here on Aquidneck Island, you can hear great live music each Wednesday at Norey's with Cowboy & Lady on 1/11 and Sugar Blood Jinx on 1/18,  Finally, don't forget about, Ocean Mic at Jimmy's Saloon), held each Thursday. I'll be playing there myself this month, email me to find out when ;-)

Yarn The Newport Public Library's Leading Ladies matinee series includes Top Hat on 1/6 and The Wizard of Oz on 1/20. Hairspray will also be screened on 1/30. As local host of the Providence Art & Design Film Festival, The Newport Art Museum will screen Yarn on on 1/12.

Manchester By The Sea continues at the Jane Pickens Theater through 1/5. January's coming attractions at JPT include three intriguing new films Lion, Jackie and 20th Century Women, we'll have to watch their website for dates and showtimes.
