Is it just me, or does it already feel like we've lived enough in 2021 to have at least made it to June, or maybe even July?! All kidding aside, we're just grateful knowing that once we get through these dog days of a pandemic winter, there's sweet relief ahead with warmth, sunshine, and vaccines. Until then, allow us to keep your mind occupied this month with conversations about sex and dreams of a Mexican vacation that could actually happen safely sooner than you might think.
Also, below you'll read about a panel that I'm excited to be moderating with some of the leading folks in hospitality, from NYC to California. As we approach the 12-month mark of the first US lockdown, it felt appropriate to pause and consider all that those of us in, or affiliated with, the hospitality industry have done to remain standing. I know I can confidently speak on behalf of hundreds of thousands of industry folks across the country when I say that getting to this point has not been easy. The link to register is below; looking forward to having you join us and sharing your voices in what promises to be a cathartic, and hopefully inspiring conversation.
So, for now, it's cold & COVID but stay strong -- this too shall pass!

"A bend in the road is not the end of the road... unless you fail to make the turn." - Helen Keller
The past year has been defined by twists and turns, requiring us to continually adapt to the "new normal" in ways we never imagined. Among so many industries ravaged by COVID, as many know, hospitality is one very close to our hearts.
On March 9th, Marlo will chat with hotel and restaurant experts from across the country and across the spectrum: investment, development, design, ops, culinary, and lodging on how their business has been fundamentally changed by COVID and what they've done -- and will continue to do -- to stay afloat until COVID is a thing of the past.
While we hope the road will straighten out soon, we are seasoned enough to know that we should expect bends for months, if not years, to come.
Panelists: - Jeremy Levitt, Principal, Parts + Labor Design (NYC)

If you've watched a two-on-one date on The Bachelor or witnessed long distance love play out on 90 Day Fiancé, you know that relationships can bring out the animal in all of us (okay, reality TV may not be the best example, but stay with us). If human relationships can stir up so much drama, just imagine how romance plays out in the animal kingdom!
Join our friends at Zoo New England for Sex at the Zoo, the second installment of Cocktails for Conservation, a virtual happy hour featuring titillating tales from the animal kingdom told by animal experts. The talk, which is geared toward adults (because, sex), will explore the similarities and differences between human and animal courtship, what the techniques animals use to attract mates can teach us about friendship and romance, and other arousing topics. "Door" prizes include a behind-the-scenes look at either a sloth or red panda (a dream date, if you ask us), Short Path Distillery gift cards and more, with all proceeds benefitting the zoo's conservation work.
So, grab a friend or S.O., pour a boozy bevy, and meet Zoo New England on Zoom for a chat about the birds and the bees. Maybe, just maybe, they can help us get to the bottom of which animals are "in it for the right reasons."

If you're anything like us, you've been dreaming about your first post-COVID vacation since... ah hell, let's be honest...about a month into this dang pandemic. And, as the weeks and months pass, the dreams become more grand. Especially for those of us enveloped in the snow and cold, those dream plans likely involve warm weather, a beach, and a coconut shell cocktail complete with tropical umbrella -- straight outta the influencer du jour's #TBT humblebrag post. Talk about rubbing salt in a wound; it's (almost) reason enough to retire Insta scrolling for good! But what if we told you your own version of paradise could come sooner than you thought?
Enter luxury travel company, Journey Mexico and their new suite of safe touring services. Designed to add an extra layer of protection to Mexican travel during a pandemic, services such as private tours and experiences, dedicated guides and drivers, and scheduled COVID tests are all part of the unique, authentic experience that Journey Mexico tailors specifically for you. For those who want to get a lay of the land before they commit to travel anywhere, Journey Mexico also keeps close tabs on COVID in Mexico, sharing frequently updated safety info right on their site.
So while widespread carefree travel remains a distant dream, for those who simply can't wait to immerse themselves in the sand and sea, dust off that luggage and let Journey Mexico work their magic. After all, hosting a Clubhouse room straight from the beach is so much cooler than recycling those #nofilter pre-pandemic pics from South Beach.
