After a looooong and stressful 2020, 2021 is already coming in a close second. If there were ever a time to focus on our mental and physical health, now is certainly that time. Below we share some work in the health and wellness space that our creative team just launched, as well as a marlo monthly-only offer you should definitely take advantage of.
Speaking of offers you should take advantage of, good friend and barre teacher extraordinaire Jessica Diaz is offering marlo monthly readers a full month of complimentary virtual barre classes because, at least so far, #2021isthenew2020 and we all need a coping mechanism that isn't *just* tied to eating baked goods (see below!). To sign up, simply click here, choose 'monthly subscription' and enter the code 'freetrial.'
Finally, in case you missed it, here's one last hurrah for the 2020 marlo marketing holiday card. Annual recipients know it usually comes via USPS and often involves food; current conditions made that impossible this time around, but spoiler alert: since cookies make everything better, you'll definitely want to check it out and bake your stress away as we all move onward and upward through the rest of 2021!

While January is typically filled with goal mapping and self-reflection, this year we're giving ourselves a little leeway when it comes to those overhyped resolutions. With all that's going on, it's A-Okay that we aren't feeling motivated to train for that 10K or commit to learning a new language (with the state of the country, that may not be a bad one to focus on -- but we digress...). What we're definitely not neglecting, though, is our mental health.
Perhaps you've heard about the healing powers of acupuncture, qi gong, gua sha, cupping, cranial sacral, reiki and other alternative therapies, but have been hesitant to take the plunge. If you ask us, 2021 is the year to dive in, with an appointment with Laura Corrigan of Laurel Wellness. Laura is a gifted healer with decades of training in acupuncture and other Chinese therapies that, along with her intuitive gifts, allow her to truly tune in and rebalance the body, alleviating both physical pain and mental stress. Sound intriguing? Check out Laura's new visual identity developed by none other than the marlo marketing creative team, starting with a logo and ending with a user-friendly and informative website.
To make giving Laura's talents a try even more compelling, if you book on Mondays through the Ardan Wellness Club Pop Up and mention marlo monthly when you're making your appointment, you'll enjoy $25.00 off of your initial treatment for all appointments booked before February 22.
So even if you don't get around to taking trapeze lessons or ditching dairy, we encourage adding "trying alternative wellness" to your resolution list. We're not even through 30 days of 2021 yet and we can already tell that we're in for a doozy; shoring up our physical and mental well-being is hands-down priority #1!

A few things we're hoping to see more of this year: friends and fam in the flesh, cocktails passed across a bar, and... pearly whites. Yup, no matter how cute and kitschy your mask, there's something about being able to see someone's smile that we never thought we would miss so very much. And, while we're on the subject of teeth... have you been to the dentist lately?
The tooth doc may have been the last thing on your mind this past year (along with touching up those pesky grays, getting off the sauce, and eating well), but now is the time to change that with a visit to Boston Smiles, new to Boston's West End. Led by Dr. Jessika Jahnsen, Boston Smiles covers the bases when it comes to dentistry, offering general, cosmetic and family dentistry services with cutting-edge technology.
And, since every successful new biz needs killer branding, we were honored to lend our creative chops (ha!) to Boston Smiles for just that. Our team designed their logo and signage, seen in the photo above.
So, when the time finally comes to be safely mask-free, make sure your chompers are in check by visiting Boston Smiles (as for getting off the sauce, let's file that under 2022!).

If you're on social media, chances are you've been fed dozens of ads from brands that customize all aspects of our lives -- from our skin and hair care to our meals to the vitamins we take and the clothes that we buy. Bespoke brands have been trending for a while, and for good reason -- we've all got different wants and needs when it comes to how we live our lives. So, shouldn't we be as selective about our healthcare as we are about our face wash?
Synergy Private Health, an affiliate of Newton-Wellesley Hospital, thinks so. Led by Boston magazine "Top Docs" Dr. Kimberly Parks and Dr. Janine Pardo, Synergy Private Health is a comprehensive lifestyle medicine-focused concierge program based in Chestnut Hill. Think of it as an exclusive club focused on your individualized health needs, from primary care to wellness services to a culinary medicine program, all with the purpose of helping you be the shiniest, healthiest version of yourself. Plus, they recently moved to swanky new digs that include a meditation room and a kitchen for nutrition and cooking classes. If that's not #healthgoals, we don't know what is.
While our last Stitch Fix haul may not have been quite our style (c'mon now, who let flared jeans out of the 90's?!), meeting our health goals this year is well within reach, thanks to our friends at Synergy Private Health.
