june 2024

Dear Marlo,

Summer is officially here and with it comes leisurely days best spent outside with drink firmly in hand. For us, that generally means a cold can of 'Gansett, so this month we're presenting three of our all-time faves from our go-to brewery.

Speaking of 'Gansett, as one of our earliest clients, we've had the pleasure of working with CEO Mark Hellendrung and his team for much of our 20 years in business. So Mark, along with 'Gansett's head brewer and one of the only female brewers at a major brewery, Lee Lord, will be special guests at our July studio series event.

Come taste your way through their lineup (it's WAY deeper than their iconic lager, fyi), hear about the brand's legacy as the #1 beer in New England from 1919 - the 1970's, and learn how the team transformed from "Nasty Narry" to it's current ranking of 23 out of the Top 50 Craft Breweries in the U.S. by the Brewers Association. Click here to buy your tickets and get ready for a summer's night of sipping and stories you won't soon forget!

retro jaws

Name a more iconic summer movie than Jaws…we’ll wait. Yeah, we can’t think of one, either. While we’re not huge fans of sharks in the water (we’ll stay safely on the sand working on our tan, #thankyouverymuch), we’re all about ‘Gansett’s fan-favorite Jaws 12-pack now available on shelves featuring its iconic 1975 retro cans that look as cool as they taste.

Featuring the legendary Jaws movie poster with the classic can famously crushed by Captain Quint, ‘Gansett fans and movie buffs alike can #crushitlikequint as they watch the classic film for the hundredth time or get sucked into Discovery’s always highly anticipated Shark Week. (Click here if you want to maximize Jaws mania with matching merch.)

Consider yourself warned: whether you're enjoying while bbq'ing in the backyard, beaching like Ken, or sailing at sunset, you’re gonna have friends and neighbors flocking like mad to get their hands on these sweet vintage cans. In other words, if you do find yourself sipping on the open water, it’s safe you say “you’re gonna need a bigger boat!"

del's shandy

Let’s be real; we can’t talk summer without dropping a mention of #ShandySZN and there's no better way to beat the heat than sipping on ‘Gansett’s Del’s Lemon Shandy. The ultimate bevvy for those sun–soaked days, ‘Gansett's longtime collaboration with the iconic Del’s Frozen Lemonade makes it our go–to brew for beach trips, pool days, and all the summer fun in between.

Craving a shandy on–the–go? Yep, us too! That's why we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for special Del’s activations all summer long across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut - that's right, your besties at 'Gansett are doing their New England neighbors a solid by making it easy peasy lemon squeezy to find these parties in a can while you're out and about all summer long. Cheers to that!

fresh catch

IOHO, warmer weather calls for two things – beer and seafood. So when it comes to what to pair with our summer seafood haul, we aren’t reaching for anything other than Narragansett’s Fresh Catch. A crisp and refreshing blonde ale, we know (from experience, natch) that it makes everything from lobster rolls to tuna crudo taste better. TBH, we don’t know why someone hasn’t petitioned for it to be the beer of National Seafood Month...note to self: start petition asap #nobrainer

And because we all know that we can't rock fresh seafood without taking care of our seas, ‘Gansett is rounding up volunteers to lend a hand at this summer's Fresh Catch Beach Clean Ups; deets below:

  • June 17, Westerly RI: Benefitting the Ocean Recovery Community Alliance  with afterparty at Andrea Beach Bar
  • June 27, South Boston, MA: Benefitting Keep Massachusetts Beautiful with afterparty at Shy Bird.

Can’t make it out? No sweat, you can still raise a can during the Fresh Catch Summer Series at ‘Gansett’s Providence waterfront brewery while enjoying mouthwatering seafood pairings (clams, crabs, and lobster – oh my!). After all, coastline crews and fishermen shouldn’t get to have all the fun.
