Greetings!

Summer's officially here! And we've got all the news you can use to have fun in the sun, starting with FREE ICE CREAM THIS WEDNESDAY at all Showcase Cinemas (can you tell we're excited?!). Everyone loves ice cream, and everyone loves the zoo -- but it isn't always for kids, as evidenced by the return of their two signature summer 21+ events. And last but not least, with a brand new neighborhood spot to check out soon in Watertown, you'll have plenty of excuses to drink and dine your way through the heat all summer long!
showcase cinemas
Okay, so here's the scoop...not only is Wednesday, June 21 the first day of summer, it's also "Free Scoop Day" at Showcase Cinemas!

While this summer's blockbusters are hot, we'll be staying cool at participating Showcase Cinemas locations throughout Massachusetts and New York by enjoying a FREE, (yes, FREE!) small cup or cone from the on-site Edy's Scoop Shops (valid with any movie ticket purchase).

We hear the forecast is sunny with a chance of sprinkles so it's the perfect time to watch The Flash, Elemental, Asteroid City, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, or Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on the big screen while cozying up to a cold cone; as we always say, life's short -- eat dessert first!

zoo new england
Who says the zoo is only for kiddos? After a three-year hiatus, our friends at Zoo New England are bringing back two fan-favorite 21+ events for double the fun this summer: A Wild Affair at Stone Zoo and Brew at the Zoo at Franklin Park Zoo.

On June 24, stroll through Stone Zoo during A Wild Affair while enjoying oh-so-adorable animal encounters, tasting stations, live music, and some ahhh-mazing auction items (think: Sox/Yankee tickets, a stay at Encore Boston, spa treatments, salon blowouts, and SO much more). Make sure to say hi to the beloved black bear bros Smoky and Bubba while you're there, and don't miss the adorable otter family living their best lives poolside.

And on July 15, guests will be able to sample a plethora of delish beers from local breweries while visiting with gorillas, giraffes, and zebras (oh my!) at Brew at the Zoo at Franklin Park Zoo. Sip smooth IPAs, stellar stouts, and fruity sours, all while getting up close and personal with the Zoo's animals after-hours? Say less!

The best part (besides those poolside otters)? Proceeds from both events go toward Zoo New England's education programs and conservation initiatives, proving you can have fun while doing good! So, grab your besties and get ready for a totally different kind of night out on the town during these adults-only evenings at the Zoo!

bar 'cino
Coming soon: Bar ‘Cino (pronounced “chee–no”) Watertown Square. Offering Italian-inspired dishes, including their signature thin-crust grilled pizza served with a pair of scissors on the side (trust us, once you try it you’ll never go back to a traditional pizza cutter!), Bar ‘Cino Watertown follows in the footsteps of its beloved sister restos in Newport and Brookline.

If you’ve been keeping up with our team’s adventures, Bar ‘Cino might ring a bell. Back in January 2020, we shouted the opening of Bar ‘Cino Brookline from the rooftops, so you could say we’re feeling particularly nostalgic about a post-pandemic round two. From the drool-worthy menu featuring shared plates, pastas, entrées, and dolces (that’s dessert for you non-Italiano speakers 😊), to their extensive wine lists and creative cocktail and mocktail menus...let's just put it this way: net net, no matter the occasion, Bar ‘Cino Watertown will be your new neighborhood gathering spot.

So follow @bar.cino.gather on Insta for official opening updates and, in the meantime, enjoy at least a visual, if not literal, feast featuring something for everyone!
