Coming soon, Chicago's Hotel Saint Clair will be sporting far more than a fab new restaurant from celeb chef Fabio Viviani, a coffee bar, and a modern work/play pet-friendly vibe (Lulu approves!) -- it'll also be sporting an entirely new brand identity, courtesy of the brand strategy and creative teams at marlo.
Located steps from Michigan Avenue, the marlo brand strategy team got their history on and researched the building's legacy and prime location to settle on A Whisper Away From The Most Magnificent Mile as its tagline, an homage to the building's original occupant, the Hotel Eastgate, which referred to itself as being "just a whisper" from the famed Chicago Loop. In addition to highlighting the property's history through a touching tag, branding the space as the Hotel Saint Clair reinforces the spot's primo central location on St. Clair Street. See what can happen when you pay attention in history and geography class, kids? To top it all off, the modern color palette and new brand identity tie the entire project together with a playful approach offering a truly local experience, with cheeky nods to our tagline in fanciful touches like the doorknockers that say, "Please Whisper, We're relaxing to the sounds of the Most Magnificent Mile" or "Please Tidy, We're out for a while enjoying the Most Magnificent Mile."
When the renovation of the 206-room hotel is completed this summer, guests from around the world will experience a true Chicago gem with ties to its past but reimagined for a modern style of work and play. Ironically, once they've had the chance to live the sweet Hotel Saint Clair life, we're sure they'll be shouting -- not whispering -- about it from the rooftops!
