november 2025

Greetings!

Can you believe it? We're just one week away from the big T. And while retailers might try to convince us the holiday season starts the moment Halloween ends, we all know the truth: Thanksgiving is the real kickoff!

This issue of marlo monthly embraces the season in full - packed with holiday sides and mains that look like you spent hours in the kitchen, plus a reminder about our favorite festive throwback lunch. Pro tip: don't sleep on those reservations...LOL is guaranteed to sell out!

In addition to being excited for the holidays, I'm also personally grateful that they mark the end of the fall conference season - because wow, this year was a doozy! From Philly to Detroit, New Orleans to Las Vegas to Palm Springs, it was a whirlwind of connecting, learning, and being inspired. One moment that's stayed with me came from the opening keynote at last week's EY Strategic Growth Forum, where Amy Purdy offered a perfectly seasonal reminder: “Maybe instead of looking at all these little things in our life that are bad we start thinking of them as blessings."

So this year, instead of framing it as a season of giving, I'm shifting my POV to a season of gratitude - grateful for all of you!

savannah classics

Ok, friends. Let’s talk turkey - and everything that goes with it.

Thanksgiving might bill itself as a day of gratitude, but let’s be real: it’s also a marathon of questionable family traditions, unsolicited cooking “tips,” and the fine art of pretending you’re not on your fourth piece of pie. And as far as cooking is concerned? Honestly, we’d rather pour another glass of wine and keep things simple.

Enter Savannah Classics - the secret weapon for anyone who wants to look like they’ve been slaving over the stove all day without missing a second of the Macy’s parade (Labubu sighting a must!) or the National Dog Show (because yes, your pick should win Best in Show). With a lineup of frozen traditional Southern sides - from the beloved Green Bean Casserole to the “did Grandma make this?” Cornbread Dressing - Savannah Classics brings all the comfort with none of the chaos.

And speaking of glow-ups worth being thankful for, the marlo team recently led a full packaging refresh for Savannah Classics, spanning all seven SKUs. The new look leans into the brand’s home-cooked heart while giving each dish a well-deserved main character moment - complete with updated food styling, a simplified logo, and photography that practically says “pass the gravy.”

So, this Thanksgiving, show up to dinner with the Southern swagger of Savannah Classics in hand. Simple, scrumptious, sanity-saving sides? That's something to be #grateful for...now please, pass the pie!

yvonne's

When Yvonne’s opened in 2015, it reimagined Boston’s social dining scene, blending cosmopolitan cuisine, high-touch service, and impossibly chic surroundings into a singular experience. A decade later, Yvonne’s continues to define elevated dining without pretense - infusing new life and modern glamour into the storied downtown space once known as Locke-Ober. And this December, they're raising a glass to the past while toasting to the future with the return of one of Boston’s most beloved holiday traditions: Locke-Ober Lunch.

For 135 years, this iconic midday affair was the city’s most coveted holiday reservation. Expect white-jacketed servers and martinis shaken tableside, champagne that never stops flowing, and a menu dripping in decadence: Black Truffle Roast Chicken, Blushing Bunny English Cheddar Rarebit, Gougères, and a showstopping Baked Alaska because restraint - especially during the holiday season - is completely overrated.

Reserve your table before every power player and party starter in the city beats you to it. History never looked (or tasted) so good!
