A Note From Our HR Director
Spring is in full bloom. This season brings change as the flowers blossom and the greenery grows. Think about that as a metaphor for your personal/professional season of change. What seeds are you planting today for career growth, retirement planning or starting that hobby you have always wanted to pursue? Life has a way of keeping us too busy to do the things that really make us happy, but we have to learn to make the time – if for no other reason than our mental health and wellbeing. I mentioned this before, but change is inevitable. Let’s look at change as a beautiful thing, like the new spring flowers in bloom, then we are sure to embrace change with more positivity and a fresh outlook on what is forthcoming.
May is not only Mental Health Awareness month, but also Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, which celebrates the contributions and achievements of the AAPI community. And for those with students in grades K-12, this week is Teacher Appreciation week.
This month’s e-newsletter highlights your Organizational Development (OD) department. OD supports the County’s ability to continually improve its processes and offerings, by focusing on improving our capabilities through the alignment of strategy, structure, people, rewards, metrics, and management processes. Think about what you can do to improve the organization. Have you communicated that new and innovative idea that recently crossed your mind? What are you doing today to prepare the next generation of County leadership? We all play a role in planting seeds and watering them to maturity.
Thank you for all you do and remember to BLOOM where you are planted.
The BEST is yet to come 😊
