7PM | Sortie de Residence - “I will dance with those oak trees as long as”
Free to public at the Adams Theater
Inspired by the culture of the Kurdistan region in Turkey, “I will dance with those oak trees as long as” takes us on a poetic voyage into the life of the minority group from the mountains, a life which took its shape from endless oppression.
After a 3-week residency at the Adams Theater, CP4P's artists Audrey, Heval, and Daria will present scenes of “I will dance with those oak trees as long as” for the first time before they take this new production onto a national tour.
CP4P is founded by theater and arts professional Audrey Rose Dégez, who is originally from Pittsburgh. This year, Dégez has grown the initiative to include Ukrainian puppet master Daria Holovchanska, originally from Kharkiv and currently based in Poland; and Kurdish actress Deniz Heval Kandemir, who Dégez met during their studies at l'école international de théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris. CP4P creates and tours new original works inspired by cultures all over the world suffering from cultural oppression.
“We have some dominant forces in this world that are trying to abolish and delete other cultures,” Dégez said. “For me, theater is a great tool. We can create empathy and put real human experience on stage. We’re not trying to give history lessons, but the biggest hope is they leave wanting to learn more.”

SEEKING PARTICIPANTS:In this research study, supported by the National Institute of Mental Health, we are interested in learning how parents pass on anxiety to their kids and whether a smartphone app can help parents develop healthier mental habits and feel less anxious.
This is a fully remote study. If eligible, parents will be able to earn up to $360 in compensation. Here are some of the questions we are interested in:
- How do parents and kids mental habits and anxiety relate to each other?
- Can a smartphone app help parents develop healthier mental habits?
- Can helping parents with mental habits positively impact their kids?
Participation in this study includes:
(1) Completing an initial set of interviews, cognitive tasks and surveys on your home computer, tablet, or smartphone (2-3 hours).
(2) Completing brief exercises and assessments on your smartphone up to 3 times per week for 4 weeks.
(3) A post-assessment with tasks and surveys.
(4) A brief follow-up assessment and comprehensive report of your responses.
People can reach out to this email (mclcarelabstudies@partners.org) or call 617-855-2036. The direct link to our screening survey (which details the study and assesses eligibility) is https://redcap.link/rnpwi9n0, if you'd like to include that as well.
