When my grandkiddies were visiting last month, the two girls, ages 10 and 12, invited me to trek way down through the large field behind Nonna's house (that's me) to the stream in the woods. In our 28 years of living where we live - in Baltimore County country - I have never bothered to walk way down through the field to the stream in the woods. So I did.
The girls (not actually pictured in stock photo lol) had done it before and so, they wanted to show their Nonna. It was a lovely trek on a tepid day ... traipsing through the field (as I would be only willing to do during snake-less season) ... through the woods ... to the stream and a series of smaller streams. I love being outdoors, and enjoyed watching my girls soak in nature, skip around, twirl around trees, hop over streams, and be carefree. But most importantly ... we were doing this us 3 together ... in our colored rain boots.
It was cool to view our house waaay up on the hill from behind - a new perspective. It was cool to look around in the area which I have only viewed over the years from my kitchen bay window with sudsy hands in the sink.
We even spotted a few deer ... and it's always pretty and peaceful to watch quiet deer. (They are so majestic, yet such twitchy scaredy-cats.)
We then walked back up from the neighbors' long driveway and I saw my house from the side - another new perspective. (I am never on that side of our property.)
Snippeteers, allow someone else to show you a different perspective of something you're familiar with - from your view. (Even a situation you're muddling through.) Accept the invitation. Let them lead the way. Skip, twirl, hop, trek, traipse ... be carefree ... soak it in. Do it all from your new view - you will be the "newer viewer."
You might be pleasantly surprised at what it looks like.
