Reintegration Ready
On June 19 th , 80 Integrity House program participants attended employment readiness workshops that offered motivational speaking, interview prep, guidance on selecting appropriate interview attire, haircuts, and beauty makeovers. Meaningful employment is critical to sustaining addiction recovery, which is why preparing the individuals we serve for the workforce is so important.

These workshops were made possible through the generosity of our stakeholders who responded to our Dress for Success appeal, and the donation of services on-site by Beauty for Ashes, Saydah Career Planning, Cut Time Barbershop, and Living Logos Christian Assembly. Their unwavering support of our work helps thousands of individuals rebuild their lives.

An extra special thank you is due to the individuals in treatment who volunteered their time to make the workshops a success for their peers.
New Halfway House for Men
On April 8 th , Integrity House opened a men's halfway house at Newark's 97 Lincoln Park. Licensed by the NJ Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) last winter, this beautiful brownstone offers 20 men with substance use disorders a safe place to sustain recovery, secure employment, and strengthen relationships with family and other support networks.

Integrity's recent expansion of the halfway house level of care beyond Newark's 37 and 49 Lincoln Park, and Secaucus' 595 County Ave. is reflective of our organization's commitment to respond to the most critical addiction treatment needs in New Jersey right now. Integrity looks forward to continuing its life-saving work with referrals from our federal, state, county and local governments.
Drugs & the Brain @ Rutgers-Newark
In April, Integrity House Directors of Long-term Residential Treatment Tom Lusch and Jenna Marcella were guest lecturers at Rutgers University-Newark for Drugs and the Brain, a course that explores how substances influence brain function and behavior. The presentation covered the cycle of addiction and treatment levels of care.
Colorful Catch Basins
I ntegrity House adopted two sewer drains on Newark's Pennsylvania Ave. Integrity's talented program participants created beautiful murals on the catch basins. In collaboration with Link Community Charter School, our organization will work to keep them clean.
Congressional Briefing on Juneteenth
On June 19 th , Integrity House Executive Director of Clinical Services Emory Salley participated in a briefing on the barriers to addiction treatment for ethnic populations. Emory specifically talked about common treatment challenges for Latinxs: stigma, language, and accessibility. During her presentation, she stressed the importance of cultural awareness, sensitivity and competence, working with families, and connecting individuals to after-treatment services.

A special thanks to Treatment Communities of America and the Congressional Black Caucus for making Integrity House a part of the important conversation on Juneteenth.
