Namaste!
When is the last time you made something, other than your bed or a quick meal? When was the last time you built, crafted, painted, composed, sketched or concocted something with your hands and a bit of imagination-- that was not out of necessity or for money?

Q & A with blue's Kristen Rae!
How do you stay on your mat when days get busy?
Activities suffer when life gets busy, including yoga practice. I'm a planner, so adding a recurring calendar event to get on my mat for yoga and meditation works for me. I recommend setting aside time at the end or beginning of the day. It doesn't have to look like a 90-minute studio class. Even 15-20 minutes of movement or sitting in quiet is a practice. Get it where you can!
What pose have you been loving this summer?
I have found joy in refining the basics. For instance in Downward Facing Dog, I've tried to not settle in the posture, but to integrate and activate. I've made little shifts in the pose, noticing how internal rotation of my thighs brings space to my lower back. It has also been a great addition to my practice of awareness.
Why is stability important in yoga?
Stability is the root. Stability grounds the practice to keep us moving safely through asana.
In the upcoming Journey to Stability series, we will practice the basics of the warrior poses and balance postures, building from the ground up and experiencing modifications. It is beginner friendly and great for those that may be recovering from injury.

yoga immersion & teacher training application deadline extended
|
deepen your practice. train to teach.
LAST CALL to step into nine months of dedicated study as we prepare for our 11th session of
9 months of transformation, the blue lotus yoga immersion and teacher training program.
Through your course of study you'll not only
learn the postures and how to teach them, but you'll take a deep dive into self-study--exploring your own thoughts, emotions and world views- your own truth-
through a process of inquiry as unique as you.
The application deadline for the 2018-19 yoga immersion & teacher training has been extended until August 15. Contact
Kathleen Yount for questions or more information.
"I tell everyone this who asks me about the YTT experience at Blue Lotus, but it was truly the best investment I've ever made in myself. The benefits of the program go way beyond the 9 month modules and asana practice, and have been extended to multiple relationships in my life." - past graduate
