Clean Up Florida Waters is an annual environmental initiative spearheaded by the Florida Realtors®, wherein local Realtor® associations across the state organize to remove trash from waterways. As one of their signature events, the MIAAOR invites volunteers every year to clean Marco Island’s pristine beaches, canals, and bays. For this year’s partnership, we are aiming to expand this event throughout Collier County and reach more volunteers and community partners.

This cleanup event has officially been scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2026, and will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM around Collier County waterways. Boaters, kayakers, and community volunteers are invited to register.

On Capitol Hill, REALTOR® Members Show They ‘R’ Here

NAR members attending the REALTORS® Legislative Meetings walked the halls of Congress yesterday and met with legislators to advocate on behalf of the industry and consumers. "If real estate is your profession, then politics [is] your business," says Reah Smith, a Seneca, S.C., agent and NAR's federal political coordinator for South Carolina Congresswoman Sheri Biggs.

Up and up: Yun says homeowners are on a wealth trajectory

NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun had mostly positive things to say this week about the housing market. On Tuesday at the REALTORS® Legislative Meetings, he projected homeowners will gain $16,000 in housing wealth this year, and he predicts the national median home price will reach $1 million within 25 years. "Homeowners will continue to build wealth, while renters are simply spinning their wheels," Yun says.

NAR data chief offers brokers AI cautions, guidance

There’s nothing wrong with getting excited about the promise of the AI revolution, but brokers also need to be mindful of serious risks, including concerns about data provenance, fair housing exposure, and branding confusion.

Hello, is there anybody out there?

Social media expert Angie Javier shares a 5x5x5 hack for getting noticed online. Javiar recommends a 15-minute daily routine—commenting on five people's posts, responding to five stories and sending five thoughtful direct messages—to increase your social media engagement and help your posts get noticed. "Social media isn't a one-way street—it's a dialogue," Javier says. "When you consistently engage first, your audience is more likely to notice your posts."

Townhouses & Condos APRIL 2026

May 2026 Market Summary Compared to May 2025

The local real estate market showed mixed results in May 2026 compared to May 2025. Overall inventory declined 33%, falling from 765 available properties to 511, indicating fewer options for buyers across all property types. Homes experienced the largest inventory decrease at 46%, while condo inventory fell 23%.

Despite lower inventory levels, sales activity increased. Total closed sales rose 15%, from 75 transactions in May 2025 to 86 in May 2026. Condo sales led the growth, increasing 30%, while lot sales tripled from 2 to 6 transactions. Home sales declined slightly by 11%.

Total sales volume remained relatively stable, decreasing just 6% year-over-year from $112.7 million to $106.5 million. Condo sales volume increased 31%, helping offset declines in home sales volume. Median sale prices continued to show strength, with the overall median increasing 4%. Condo median prices rose 16%, lot prices increased 9%, and home prices remained relatively stable with a slight 4% decrease.

Properties spent an average of 100 days on the market, nearly unchanged from 102 days in May 2025. Homes took longer to sell, while condos and lots sold somewhat faster than the previous year.

Overall, the May 2026 market reflected continued price stability, strong condo demand, increased transaction activity, and a tighter inventory environment compared to one year ago.
