on our own journey
Perhaps at times you feel bowled over by the imbalance in this world. I know I do.

At a volunteer gig last week for Santa's Angels here in Florida, we were filling nonperishable food in boxes to be delivered to seven local vulnerable families needing assistance. One family was a mom with a baby and another young
child ... living in a motel. :-(

I asked the other two volunteers, "How is this world so unbalanced?" Here we stand with ALLLLL the various wonderful blessings God gifted us, and over there is this small struggling family accepting items like a case of Spaghetti-Os and bags of rice - without a home to call their own or a stove on which to cook.

One of the volunteers reminded me, "We are each on our own journey."

We may not understand the reasons why some people have SO much while others have SO little. Someone please explain to me what is the lesson for a mom living in a motel without enough food to feed her babies?

We question ... what is the lesson in whatever we are struggling with today? We may not learn it as it's happening ... we may realize it later. [Hindsight = 20/20] We may not like it. We may not understand it. None of it feels balanced. Some of it angers us. Some of it baffles us. Some of it gives us a big pit deep in our stomachs. Some of it feels as if it will never end - it feels hopeless.

We are stretched ... tested ... pushed ... challenged. And the choices we make during the struggle help to shape us.

And ALL OF IT ... everything we experience, every situation, every person we love or hate, every adventure or mishap we have ... everything that "happens to us" ... teaches us something.

Something.

It is up to us to find the message, like it or not.

We are each on our own journey.
