Sunset Park & Denton Street Pool to Open this Weekend!
Ask any kid in Rocky Mount where they like to go on a hot summer day, and you'll likely hear them say Sunset Park or Denton Street Pool! These facilities will open for the season this Saturday, May 28 and will remain open throughout the holiday weekend at the hours listed below; the hours will expand when school lets out for the summer.
SUNSET PARK

featuring a sprayground waterpark, carousel, miniature train, rides, concession stand, & more!

MON-FRI: 4:00 pm til dark
SAT-SUN: 1:00 pm til dark

DENTON STREET POOL

featuring water slides, diving boards, concession stand,
spray-ground elements, bath house, & zero-depth entry!

Saturday Night Swims: 7:00-9:00 pm

Fiesta Latina returns to the Imperial Centre on Saturday!
Come enjoy the festivities of the Latino culture with live bands and dancers. Kick up your heels on the dance floor or sit back and just relax while the kids try to hit a Pinata or jump in the bouncer. Feel free to bring your lawn chairs or blankets. Food vendors will be on site. Admission is FREE!

arts immersion
The Maria V. Howard Arts Center invites you to spend an evening immersed in the arts!
Arts Immersion is a new and exciting program supported by the National Endowment for the Arts that introduces the wide variety of creative opportunities that lie within each of us, brought to life in the galleries, theatre, and studios of the Maria V. Howard Arts Center.
Experience our galleries with a guided tour, get your hands dirty in our arts education studios, meet with local and national artists about their work and get on stage and experience our theatre first hand.
Bring your women's club, book club, neighbors, church group, coworkers or just a group of friends on a field trip to the Arts Center for free. Visits can be designed to accommodate your schedule Monday through Friday day or night. We recommend two hours to experience the full program.
