Message from President
 Bonnie Chapman

Greetings Soroptimists!

My friend says to me: "What rhymes with orange"

I said: "No it doesn't"

I ran into Angie Little, President of SI Bidwell Rancho yesterday and we spent a few minutes chatting. We both agreed that our clubs have started out strong and that both groups are super busy with multiple activities and lots of committee work. High 5 to all Soroptimists in Chico!!

You should have received an invitation to sign up to help with the Dueling Pianos fundraiser. I hope to see the schedule fill right up as we work together to make the event a fun evening and successful money earner for our club. Also please remember to buy or sell 2 tickets as soon as possible. Thanks for your help everyone!

I'm super excited for The Walk to End Alzheimer's on Saturday. We will have a strong presence there and we can feel great about having really made a difference.

It's another great week to be a Soroptimist!

With Gratitude,
Soroptimist International of Chico
President, 2018-2019
This Week's Program

Ann Willmann, General Manager
Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD)

Ann was first introduced to the field of Community Recreation when she was 16 years old. Working as a
recreation leader for a program that served youth and adults with disabilities. Ann credits her lifelong career in Recreation to her mother who suggested she get a degree in Parks and Recreation. At 18 years old Ann
embarked on her education and career and has never regretted her choice.

Ann wants us to  walk away with at least one thing we do not know about CARD.

 Chamber Business Connections (CBC)
We will be hosting a Chamber Business Connections (CBC) on Oct. 24th at Manzanita Place (Elks Lodge).  Setup time is 7am.  This event is an opportunity for us to let chamber members know what we do in our community and who we are.  We will also be live on Facebook.  Chamber members will be arriving around 7:15am and it will conclude at 8:30am.

The Alzheimer's Association would like our club to work the registration table.

We also have been given a free space at the walk, so we will be setting up our Soroptimist tent and need volunteers to man it.  There are 2 shifts, one from 7:45am to 10am and one from 10am to Noon or until the walk finishes. You were sent out an updated Signup on Saturday morning via email.  If you missed this email here is the link to the signup:
