TOM HENION ILLNESS
To Whom it May Concern,
I'm not sure if you are aware, but our Pastor, Tom Henion Jr., is experiencing a severe health crisis and we are reaching out to you as we are raising funds for the family's health expenses. He was admitted to the hospital on January 10, 2021 and it was found that his liver was not functioning, which necessitated a liver transplant. Praise God, he received his transplant last week and it appears to be functioning. He is not out of the woods yet, and still needs our prayers. I attached a flyer we put together in the event people would like to help the family either through prayer, making dinner or by donating to help alleviate some of his medical expenses. If you could see to its distribution throughout the RCA, we would appreciate it. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
With great thanks and prayers that you all are staying healthy and safe,
Lori Koch, Montville Reformed Church Administrator

There will be one more program in this series during 2020-21:
TECHNOLOGY NOTES: USEFUL TOOLS WHILE WE ARE VIRTUAL

Here are some tools that you might want to consider working with to supplement your zoom skills!

GATHERTOWN: This platform looks like an old style nintendo game but allows people to be virtually present and move around on their own. As you get near others you can see and hear them, and when you move away you lose touch with them. It allows for more autonomy of movement than zoom (you can go where you want and talk with whom you want to talk on your own). We set up different workshop rooms where people could drop in and then leave when they wanted to. This might work well for some Sunday School type applications or youth group activities.

MURAL: This platform allows for a virtual whiteboard where you can post sticky notes, images, websites in a collaborative way. Many people can be signed in with a simple link and everyone can post notes and rearrange them. This has worked great for Bible study material and lessons, as well as increasing engagement and participation by others.
