Faith-Based Addiction Recovery Collaborative

We recently started a faith-based addiction recovery collaborative to bring together organizations to support one another in their work and strengthen the impact being made in the community.

We know how powerful it can be when providers work together to fill gaps in the community. As we celebrate hope being born in a manger this month, we want to make hope a reality to those who are struggling in our area.

We held a listening tour on Thursday December the 8th and met with several faith-based non profits that work with those struggling with addiction in our area. It was a blessing to hear all of the amazing work that is being done and to see people creating new relationships to collaborate going forward.

One story we heard was of a non profit giving out backpacks to low income areas. A lot of kids need a refill on school supplies and their backpacks have taken a beating by now. Another non profit offered them extra backpacks they had left over from a previous initiative. It was a simple connection that doubled the impact. May we unite our efforts together to multiply the impact this coming year!

New Connections!

Our team has been busy making new connections in the community. We'd like to highlight a few organizations making an impact.

We had the pleasure of connecting with the team from Genesis Recovery & Wellness (GROW) in Middleburg Heights. GROW is an outpatient treatment program serving all 22 counties of Northeast Ohio treating adult clients with substance use disorder issues and cooccurring emotional and mental health issues.

Their team is looking to expand their program in the coming years. They currently have a sober living house for men with plans to open housing for women. They offer virtual and in-person services and will soon open a new location in Fairlawn.

GROW is a great resource for the addiction recovery community. Please reach out to their team at 216.260.2112 if you would like to connect.

Restore Addiction Recovery is a Christ-centered, Biblically-based, and clinically-supported 12-month residential program for men struggling with drug and/or alcohol addiction.

Their mission is simple. They want to provide individualized care and life-changing truth to empower men struggling with addiction to live the life God always intended.

Their unique focus is on individualized care because they know addiction recovery is not a "one size fits all" approach. The 12-month program is free to join with no insurance required. Restore wants recovery to be possible for anyone, regardless of their ability to pay.

“We took a step back and said, 'what’s best for the men?'" Dan Gregory, founder of Restore, explains, "Not how do we fund it... but what is the program that takes the man from a point of addiction to a point of freedom and really, renewed life in Christ?’ ”If you or someone you know is in need of recovery, Restore has beds available today. Call us at 800-357-8684."

Sober Grid is a free addiction recovery app for tracking and sharing progress with others, giving and receiving support, and accessing 24/7 live telehealth peer coaching.

The app includes a "sober newsfeed" where users can connect with one another and share advice. Sober Grid's Daily Recovery Goal Program gives “Daily Quests” that allows for a regimented pathway for users to stay on target and achieve their path to recovery.

Users can connect with each other by using The Grid— a GPS locator user interface that displays user profiles and distances from them. Users can also choose to remain anonymous.

Sober Grid expands access to support and connectivity that aids in reducing relapse rates, isolation, and negative impacts on individuals. You can download it for free on your phone or tablet.
