Join us as National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Summit County Executive Director Leslie Powlette Stoyer shares information about how children are experiencing increased mental health problems. Leslie will explain how children can cope with increased stress and anxiety and will provide resources for where to find help in Ohio.

Our team will also be giving a presentation showing how families can access youth and family services on the relink.org database. Earlier this year, we launched our Family Resources category which includes youth counseling, educational family resources, and several other family services across Ohio.

The webinar will take place on Thursday, October 20 at 2:00. Please reach out to our team at info@relink.org if you have any questions or concerns.

Newly-Formed Reentry Coalitions

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction was recently awarded a grant to create and expand new reentry coalitions in Ohio. 31 counties were awarded funding to increase reentry opportunities for returning citizens. Relink.org also received funding to help train and educate reentry coalitions to help quickly connect individuals reentering their region with all available resources.

We'd like to highlight these coalitions and the great work they are doing in their communities. Finding housing and employment after being released from prison can be a major challenge, and these coalitions are stepping up to help as many reentering citizens as possible.

Every reentry coalition is listed on relink.org with important contact information and services each coalition provides. Coalitions can be found by going to the relink.org basic needs page and searching for: Re-Entry → Support Services → Reentry Community Groups/Coalitions.

We are thrilled to be part of this important work and are eager to see the results of this grant opportunity.

Reentry Event: Women's Virtual Series

Women Helping Women and ODRC are hosting a virtual series for incarcerated women. The purpose of the series is to relay vital information to incarcerated women or those on supervision as well as anyone who works with them including community-based facilities and programs.

The second session of the series will be held virtually on October 26 at 8:30 A.M. and will focus on domestic violence and healthy relationships. Please contact Daryl Graves for an invitation or questions at darryl.graves@odrc.state.oh.us.

"What's in the Bag?"

Rachel Sobitz, our Community Engagement Coordinator, takes little bags out with her when she is attending events. The big question from the adults and youth alike is "What is in the bag?" Everyone is always curious.

For so many people, just a simple bag with some treats brings such a big smile.

It is our hope at relink.org that we are able to be a bright spot in someone's day. It could be a mom who feels relieved that she found a rehab facility for her child who is struggling with addiction or an inmate who is planning their future release and looking up jobs, housing, and furniture. It might even be a teenager who finds a counselor because they are struggling emotionally or a young child who receives a new coat through a clothing closet we have listed.

We want to make a difference each day in the lives of others, one person at a time. If you would like resources sent to your organization such as business cards or or other contact information, please feel free to reach out to Rachel at rsobitz@relink.org.
