Dear South Woodland Hills Residents,
Local police gave a community safety and security update during the 14 September South Woodland Hills Association monthly meeting. One of the items that they asked the Association to communicate to everyone is that there has been a spike in motor vehicle thefts recently. Thieves are specifically targeting Toyota Tundra trucks for theft of catalytic converters, and almost all Toyota cars (to include older ones) are being targeted for tire and wheel theft.
If you have a Toyota vehicle, please take extra care where you park. If you can, park in a garage. If not, park in a well lit area, and avoid parking on the street whenever possible. Keep your doors locked, and use your alarm if you have one.
Local police do have suspects that they are tracking down, but please do your part. If you see suspicious activity, please call the police immediately. Capturing pictures or video are helpful, but calling the police immediately is the most helpful activity that you can do.

Save the Date: South Woodland Hills Annual Community Garage sale moved to October 24, 2020 for 2020.
Individual yard sales are not permitted in South Woodland Hills per our deed restrictions. There are several local websites that offer online sales. Several nearby villages have one or two community wide sales per year. South Woodland Hills has one community wide yard sale date on the last Saturday of October, from 7am to 2pm. (for 2020 October 24, 2020) (no rain date) The community association will post signs around the neighborhood entrances announcing the event and on social media platforms. We encourage individual garage sales to promote their own sale by signs that are removed after the sale and on social media.
