American quality once again meets German engineering with Impact’s smallest PC featuring AMD Ryzen. Connecting them to sunlight-readable touch monitors - described below – is convenient and made possible via HDMI or Display Port and USB cables.

Impact Components introduces new compact media players / IPCs (industrial personal computers) IMP-3714-R1 and IMP-3714-R2. Measuring only 147 x 165 x 36 mm (5.78" x 6.5" x 1.4") and weighing only about 1 kg (2.2 Lb), the computers offer significant power savings. Users can deploy a few such fanless computers or media players for gaming, kiosks, or robotic automation to save money on electricity thanks to their low power consumption. With or without chassis (just as motherboards optionally), these products available from Impact feature built-in AMD CPUs and and AMD Radeon™ Vega Graphics.

Impact’s media players / IPCs are based on Kontron’s new German-made AMD Ryzen based industrial grade motherboard of 5.5”x5.8” mini-STX form factor capable of fanless operation. They work with latest NVME SSD drives or SATA. Each motherboard features 2 LANs, 1 GPIO, up to 3 Display Ports, 1 HDMI, 1 eDP, 1 Dual-Channel LVDS, 7 USBs, 1 USB-C, and TPM V2.0, supports Linux and Windows 10 & Windows 11, and operates with either 12V or any voltage within 19V to 28V. Optional are: chassis for -R1 & -R2 versions, heatsink or slim-profile fan, up to 2 optional Serial COM ports (like RS232/422/485), and WiFi/Bluetooth M.2 based card with special antennas.

With benchmark measurements taken by means of Passmark, PC Mark10, and 3D methods, these AMD equivalents to specific Intel CPUs can be established based on their Power Consumption (x axis) and CPU & GPU Performance (y axis). For example, performance of Kontron D3714-V2 motherboard with embedded AMD Ryzen CPU V1605B (QC/QuadCore) is comparable to Intel Core i3 CPU 9100TE while offering about 2x power consumption savings. Performance-per-watt is lower than mini PCs running even on the latest 11th gen Intel platform.
