MICHIGAN/MIDWEST CALLS
Downtown Lansing Inc. announces a call to artists for their summer community project "Art Attack," which will change the face of a vacant downtown building by wrapping it with beautiful artwork and create an inspiring space for the community to enjoy! You can submit artwork designs that have already been created, or design something new! Submit a high resolution image of your completed piece (or let them know if they need to send a photographer your way) and that picture will be used to transfer onto weather resistant vinyl to wrap portions of the Neller building located at the corner of Grand Ave. and Michigan Ave. Up to 10 different artists will be selected, and all selected artists will receive a $500 stipend. Application deadline is July 20, 2021. Please note, while you will send your files to Downtown Lansing Inc., the property owner, Granger Group, will have the final say on which artwork is selected to beautify their building. The AuSable Artisan Village in Grayling, Michigan seeks entries for its juried art exhibition "Third Annual Art Explosion" to be held Aug. 28-Sept. 11, 2021. Any artists age 18 and over can register their artwork to compete for more than $10,000 in awards. Open to all visual mediums. See rules for more details. Application deadline is July 15, 2021. Cincinnati Art Club announces a call to artists for their juried art exhibition, "ViewPoint 53" to be held Sept. 17, 2021, through Oct. 22, 2021, at Art Design Consultants in Cincinnati, Ohio. More than $4,000 in awards will be given. They are seeking traditional 2D works (painting, pastels, graphite, etc. as well as sculpture). Application deadline is July 15, 2021. Learn more.

Liberty Center Association for the Arts announces a call to artists for its juried art exhibition, "Trail's End Western Art Show," being held Sept. 17-Oct. 30, 2021, at Hayden Liberty Center in Sedalia, Missouri. Awards up to $1,500 will be given. The exhibition seeks to draw inspiration from the American West, including both historic and contemporary themes and imagery and is open to all artists 21 years of age or older. All artwork must be the original work of the submitting artist and created during the last three years. A $30 entry fee is required. Application deadline is July 31, 2021. Learn more.

Art Fair Fun invites artists to apply for the Halfmoon Lake Art Fair, held October 2-3, 2021, at Halfmoon Lake in Pinckney, Michigan. This is an all-media juried fine art fair. The fair is held near the adorable town of Chelsea, home to actor Jeff Daniels and only about ten miles from Ann Arbor, in a beautiful setting with a large flat grassy area that is perfect for an art fair. A $30 application fee is required. Application deadline is August 8, 2021. Learn more.

Big Ink is hosting a weekend of monumental woodblock printing at Color Ink Studio in Hazel Park, Michigan on Oct. 16-17, 2021. To participate artists should submit a design for consideration, and if selected, they will have two months to carve a woodblock of at least 24 x 36 inches based on their submission. The event gives artists the opportunity to bring their next big idea to life while participating in a one-of-a-kind print bonanza! Application deadline is August 9, 2021. Learn more.

NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL CALLS
Light Art Space in Silver City, New Mexico seeks entries for "Visions of Nature: Contemporary Views in Alternative Photographic Techniques," a juried photography exhibition, to be held Aug. 6-Oct. 2, 2021. Nearly $500 in awards to be given. Acceptable processes include, but are not limited to, cyanotype, gum bichromate, van dyke, palladium/platinum, photopolymer gravure, copper plate gravure, salt, tintype, silver gelatin, chemigrams and more. Digital photographic images can be used in combination with other processes, but straight digital prints will not be accepted. 3D and experimental work is encouraged. $40 entry fee. Application deadline is July 7, 2021. Price Sculpture Forest in Coupeville, Washington announces an RFP/RFQ for sculptures to be exhibited in the park along two themed areas, "Nature Nurtured," and "Whimsy Way," each with their own devoted walking-trail loop. The park will provide artists with excellent public exposure in a beautiful setting. They offer early phase participants of one hundred percent of their sales proceeds with no commission, to encourage inclusion of artist's best work and to support the artists. They are also offering early participants the opportunity to personally choose the best locations within the park where they would best like to present their sculpture to the public. Marketing of the artists and their work will be provided. And there is no jury entry fee. Application is ongoing. Learn more.

Arts Council Greater Lansing presents an Open Group Grant Consultation for two of its member-only grants. Drop into this virtual meeting and discuss your creative ideas with membership and program manager, Taylor Haslett. She can assist you in planning your grant applications or lead you to other funding opportunities. Current grants available are the Young Creatives grants (due August 1, 2021) and the Chris Clark Fellowships (due August 1, 2021). This virtual consultation will take place on July 8, 2021, from 12-2 p.m. If you would like to attend, send an email to Taylor Haslett at taylor@lansingarts.org. 

Arts Council Greater Lansing presents a grant workshop for the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs' Regional Regranting Program. Drop into this virtual meeting and discuss your creative ideas with membership and program manager, Taylor Haslett. Current grants available include MCACA Professional and Organizational Development Minigrants (due August 3, 2021) and MCACA Arts Project Minigrants (due August 3, 2021). Springboard for the Arts presents "Work of Art+Publishing Panel." A panel of professionals from the publishing industry, including publishers, bookstore owners and writers will try to take some of the mystery out of the ins and outs of the publishing business. Presented in partnership with Dakota County Library, this Zoom webinar will take place on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. EST. This event can be attended for free using a cell phone or landline number and does not require video conferencing equipment or an internet connection. Register now.

Muralmatics is seeking a teaching assistant to provide team building and hands-on activities support for an upcoming collaboration. A small group of future freshmen from Dwight Rich School of the Arts will paint a mural in South Lansing this coming July. The mural will be centered around the theme of LEGACY in conjunction with students' U.S. History studies. Candidates with youth development experience [required] and some art based programming [preferred but not required] are encouraged to apply. Application deadline is July 7, 2021. Learn more.
