A Message from the Headmaster

Dear Archway Trivium Families,

I have been thinking about the power of stories lately. For most of history, culture was formed and sustained by the exchange of stories around campfires, churches, public houses, and other such gathering places. Intergenerationally, stories shared in the home allowed traditions and culture to continue through time. So what are the gathering places of our day? Social media feeds? Streaming services? Do we seek out human connection in direct ways? And what are the stories we tell? What are the assumptions and values that make up the foundations of those stories?

When we study literature, more often than not, it is in these foundations that we find the greatest truths. When our students read the Narnia series in grades 3-5, the transcendent truths that form their souls are not the talking animals or the magic. Instead they are found in the value the characters place on fraternal love, freedom to choose good things, self-discipline, and sacrifice. A story that contains these elements may be more true than a factually correct story that confounds these virtuous and ennobling elements.

So, what are the stories we tell? Are they superficial narration of factual events, or are they meaningful reflections of those things we hold most dear? Do they fill our time, or do they fill our souls? However we answer these questions, one thing is certain. The nature of our stories will shape our culture for better or for worse. Choose wisely.

Heartily Devoted,

Clay Scott, Ed. D.

Headmaster, Archway Trivium

Communication Updates

Latest News image.png

School Messenger Communication

Great Hearts and Archway Trivium continue to utilize the system School Messenger for emails, robo-calls, and text messaging to inform families of campus related academy emergencies and other communications. SchoolMessenger has a new automatic opt-in for text feature. During the registration/re-enrollment process families confirmed their wish to participate in text communications. Great Hearts will now automatically opt in contact information given during the registration/re-enrollment process with the options you selected. You will notice at the beginning of July you will be opted in for text messaging. If you would like to opt out of text messages simply reply STOP to the text from 67585. You can also enter the code 67585 with the message STOP to block any text messaging. Please note, if opting out, you will not receive texts regarding emergencies on campus.

Email Communications

If you know of parents who are not receiving these communications, please ask them to check their junk/promotions email folders, and then email bmcdonald@archwaytrivium.org for assistance.

You can also find all school-wide communications on our website on the Latest News page.
