Facility Master Plan process begins with

community engagement

Opportunity to reimagine the district will prioritize preserving high-quality learning experiences for all students.

A new long-range Facility Master Plan will develop a roadmap for designing the future educational experience for students over the next decade and beyond. A key step will be determining how SPS invests in and utilizes school buildings. A Facility Master Plan Advisory Council composed of approximately 60 individuals including parents, students and community members is meeting to review data and provide input. Employees are invited to attend community meetings Oct. 19 at Glendale High School or Oct. 20 at Central High School to learn more about the process and provide feedback.

Climate and culture survey will start next week

To help better understand our school climate and culture, SPS will be surveying employees, parents and students beginning Oct. 12. The feedback will be used to assess our building and district culture and identify opportunities for improvement. Please watch for an email next week that will include a link to complete the survey.

Bulldog runner honored for outstanding sportsmanship

Assisting a runner from a competing cross country team earned Central High School student Dominik Quinn the title of Bulldog Athlete of the Week.

I Choose SPS: Dr. Ashley Felton, Central Principal

"I am a product of SPS, I am who I am because of the people who poured into me at Mark Twain, Jarrett and Parkview. Our SPS school board president, Judy Brunner, was my principal and interviewed me for my first job in SPS. Another board member, Coach Provance, was my softball coach for all four years in high school.

I appreciate the confidence people had and still have in me to do this role because I cannot imagine being at any other school. I love this building and am so proud of the work we keep doing for kids. Our students are phenomenal and are so fun to work with.”
