Hello -

We hope your summer is going well! As we continue our housing selection processes, we’ve become aware of questions regarding our University-sponsored housing (Crowne Apartments and Deacon Station) options for the coming year. We’re writing today to offer some additional information and an opportunity to change your selection should you find these spaces a better fit for your plans next year.
To clarify, students living in University-sponsored housing at Crowne Apartments or Deacon Station:
  • Will NOT be required to sign a private lease; they will instead sign the University’s housing agreement (a 10-month agreement, not a 12-month lease).
  • Will follow our standard opening and closing dates.
  • Be charged for their housing via their University student account, including the application of scholarship/financial aid funds toward housing.
  • Charges for these complexes include utilities for the apartment.
  • May choose the Commuter Meal Plan.
Additional information about University-sponsored housing can be found here. Information on the WFU shuttle service to these properties can be found here. Finally, we would note that with the rise in University-sponsored options for the coming year, particularly at Deacon Station, we expect to provide residents the chance to feel a part of a Wake Forest community within each complex.

If after reviewing this information, your roommate group feels that University-sponsored housing at Deacon Station or the Crowne properties would be a better fit for the 21-22 Academic Year, please reach out to Kristy Eanes at eaneska@wfu.edu by Tuesday, June 29 and she will work with you to change your selections for the coming year.

Please keep in mind that groups requesting a change to their selection will need to match their current group size to available units in University-sponsored housing (groups of 2 or 4).

As always, let us know if you have any further questions at housing@wfu.edu or 336.758.5185.

Best-
