St. Stephen's in-the-Field Episcopal Church

 FRIDAY JOURNAL, Oct 9th, 2026

We the people of Saint Stephen's in-the Field

Seek to know Christ, to share Christ, and to serve Christ,

recognizing his presence in all people, and reaching out in love

to each other and to the world around us.

From the vestry ...

Below is a letter that the church received from our neighbors:

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. I’ve noticed the LGBTQ+ and Trans Pride flags you proudly fly in front of your church, and I truly appreciate seeing them in our neighborhood.

When we first moved here, I honestly wondered if the flags were simply a gesture for Pride Month. But after living here for a few years and seeing that they’re still flying—and that you’ve even updated them—it has really meant something to me.

We are a two-mom family raising twin boys, and representation matters. Seeing those flags proudly displayed, especially in what can feel like a more conservative area, sends a meaningful message that LGBTQ+ families are seen, valued, and welcome.

Thank you for continuing to fly them high. It means more than you may realize.

Sunday, Nov 1st (all saints day) will be the final time for Fr Ken presiding at St. Stephen's. Join us if you can.

The gardeners are in need of more cardboard! Bring any large pieces of cardboard that you have to recycle them into the garden.

NEEDING PRAYER SUPPORT?

Prayer is one of those things we often think about, might feel inadequate about, believe in but might be unsure how to proceed. How we pray is sometimes unique to each of us. The Church provides help in many ways. If you find yourself in need, of any kind (emotional, physical, spiritual, guidance, etc) consider how St. Stephen's can support you:

*   there is a prayer chain of committed pray-ers (who maintain confidentiality).

*   tell people about your answers to prayer! and the miracles you witness, or how prayer changes YOU.
