Hamilton-Selway is thrilled to be offering Flower for Tacoma Dome in our third online auction The Preeminent Warhol celebrating the prolific, powerful practice of one of the world’s most recognized artists. This work is testament to Andy Warhol’s larger than life ambitions and his willingness to fill the world with audacious color and unabashed joyful beauty. Flower for Tacoma Dome comes from a series of palette experiments as part of a public art proposal for the five acre roof of the multi-purpose arena.

Here, Warhol hoped to paint the entire dome with a massive, brilliantly colored flower, giving Tacoma an unforgettable landmark, transforming the beige concrete into something ecstatic, a flower one could see from space. Though unaccepted in his own lifetime, renewed community efforts to create Warhol’s proposal continue to gain steam in Tacoma, and have already cleared the most difficult hurdles to achieving the artist’s incredible vision for the city.  Join Warhol in imagining a more colorful world. Place your bids on that vibrant vision in our current auction at www.hsfaauctions.com or  in our auction APP.    Registration is open now!
