Parking Lot Repaving and OFFSITE Worship on Sunday, July 12
The congregation was so wonderful to support the "Pave the Way" fundraising to repave the parking lot and soon it will be happening. The parking lot will be repaved and unavailable from Monday, July 6 through at least Wednesday, July 15. If you need to stop by the church, the driveway closest to the parsonage will be available for parking. This means that on Sunday, July 12 at 9:30 am we will share worship with St. Matthew's Lutheran Church at 2440 Conestoga Rd, Chester Springs, PA 19425. This will be a great time to connect with our "sister" congregation with whom we collaborate, especially on areas like Youth Ministry, Rise Against Hunger and Vacation Bible School. In
addition, please note that St. Matthew's plans to host a special hospitality as a
welcome gesture to St. Paul's, so please plan to join.

Support Earthquake Relief in Venezuela
Two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela last week, with 1700 lives confirmed lost so far, with thousands more injured and families left without shelter, safety, or access to necessities. Lutheran Disaster Response is already responding through trusted, long-standing partners in the region, including the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Venezuela (IELV). ELCA partners have deployed assessment teams to affected areas, working together to identify urgent needs, provide immediate relief (e.g. food, shelter, water) and coordinate a plan for long-term assistance. To help support these efforts, please consider making a donation to Lutheran Disaster Response. Donations should be made online directly (not sent through St. Paul's). Thank you!

Pause in Thrift Store Donation Collection
Due to St. Paul’s parking lot being repaved, we will be taking a brief pause in collecting donations for the thrift store.
Please do not plan to drop off any donations between July 5 and July 19.
Thank you!

Help Lead Worship Behind the Scenes!
St. Paul’s is looking for volunteers to join our Worship Tech Team to help us "worship in spirit and truth." By joining this team, you’ll provide needed support for the worship team, allowing our audio technicians to focus their expertise on mastering the sound while you handle the visuals. You’ll play a vital role by timing slide transitions to stay just ahead of the congregation, ensuring everyone can sing and speak along confidently.
The Perks: Enjoy Dave’s great company and reserved balcony seating with the best view in the house while you serve!
The Role: Advance slides in OBS and assist with technical needs during worship.
The Commitment: Serve once every 4–6 weeks. An annual commitment is preferred for continuity.
Requirements: Attention to detail, basic tech skills, and a heart for our mission.
Training: Full support provided by our Director of Music and Worship Technician.
Want to learn more? Click here for full ministry description. Ready to sign up? Just contact Maureen in the church office to get started!

Home Crafting Projects
Even though the Crafters are not meeting throughout summer, our sewing projects continue at home. If you’d like to help with the easy-to-sew school bags for Lutheran World Relief, let us know. It’s just straight stitch sewing from an easy-to-follow instruction sheet. Or if you’d like to finish off one of our quilts by putting in the final knots, they’re ready to work on too. Questions? Tilly Hujsak (home) 610-363-6898 (cell) 610-764-8800 or Karen Pindle 484-883-5721 (cell). Thank you.

Organ/Accompanist or Assistant Music Director Position
Our team is ready to start receiving application materials for this staff position. You'll notice we are advertising in two different ways. We remain committed to our use of the organ in traditional worship and if needed, will be restructuring the Music Director position to ensure continuity in this area. We will ultimately select the new person and role that best align with the lead applicant's specific skills and heart to ensure the best fit for our music ministry. If you are interested or know someone who might be a good candidate, please check out StPaulsLionville.org/careers to learn more.

Musical Notes from Lindsay
July 5:
Prelude: Many And Great, O God (Wakantanka Taku Nitawa)
Many and great, O God, are thy things,
Maker of earth and sky.
Thy hands have set the heavens with stars;
thy fingers spread the mountains and plains.
Lo, at thy word the waters were formed;
deep seas obey thy voice.
I took a deep dive in learning the history behind this selection. After reading Joseph Renville's story, I was left with a sense of awe that I felt called to share:
The text and tune of our prelude was composed by Joseph Renville. A fur trader and Indian guide, Renville's father was a reputed French trader, and his mother was a Dakota. (Outsiders refer to Dakota as Sioux, making the label of Sioux an exonym.) While Renville spent much of his youth raised as a Dakota child, at age ten, his father brought him to Montreal for formal Catholic education with a Roman priest; however, before he reached adulthood, Renville's father passed away, and the young Renville was returned to the Dakota land where he was employed by a fur company (Hudson's Bay Company), and later served as a guide and interpreter...eventually rising to the position of captain in the British army during the War of 1812.
Following his co-founding of the Columbia Fur Company and his establishment of a trading post at Lac Qui Parle, in 1834 Renville aided in founding a Presbyterian mission, in collaboration with English missionaries. The products of the mission were wide-reaching, including: Dakota/English dictionary, Dakota translations of the Bible, a Dakota grammar, a Dakota translation of John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress, a Dakota newspaper and school curriculum, and a Dakota hymnal. Of the 108 hymns, 6 were written by Renville. "Many and Great" reflects an early devotion of indigenous people such as Renville to Christian faith. Renville's ability to instill trust within the Dakota people (hesitant to follow white missionaries) was instrumental in the work of the mission.

Gathering Hymn: God Bless Our Native Land
The hymn tune should sound quite familiar, and is appropriate for this 4th of July weekend. The text used in our hymnal actually pre-dates the "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" text, but the tune itself has been used internationally in countries such as England ("God Save the King") and Germany ("God Save the Saxon").
Song of the Day: By Faith
A proclamation of unwavering faith, our song of the day underlines the themes of our Exodus scripture. As we lift up the words we walk by faith and not by sight, we collectively express our belief that it is through faith that we experience our soul's reward, and His ability to break the chains of captives.
Sending Song: My Life is In You Lord
We go forth into the world knowing that we carry God's strength within us.
