The Board will address various business items, including a review and evaluation of the 2021 Congress; making board positions more doable; presentation of ideas on listserve logistics; and evaluation and review of the national branch support program, Building Branches from the Inside Out. (At its January 25 meeting, the Board voted to continue the Inside-Out program.) As stipulated in the WILPF US Bylaws, at this short-notice meeting, the Board is not permitted to make policy decisions.
New Website, New Discussion Listserve, and Other Initiatives
This year, WILPF is in an excellent position to be dynamic and effective, and Board business has increased as a result. We’re putting the finishing touches on our new website, which offers multiple new features. Our issue committees are expanding the range of work they undertake while also focusing on specific projects. Additionally, WILPF US is benefitting from increased financing by supporters for our work, allowing us to hire additional staff to improve social media outreach and other aspects of communications.
All members will be invited to join a new discussion listserve. Watch for the upcoming eAlert, once we work out the logistics and the procedures for due process for addressing potential disagreements about the listserve guidelines.
