We offer many opportunities to Foster Connection with others in our community. Every month we have groups that meet regularly for a variety of activities. You are invited to drop by and join in our fun. Some groups meet in person, some via Zoom, and some offer both. Read our Community Activities Bulletin for detailed information.

If you have a hobby or passion you would like to share with the community by way of starting a social activity or justice group, contact Bubba, our Congregational Administrator at Administrator@SaltwaterChurch.org or Jessica, our Director of Faith Formation at DFFSsaltwater@gmail.com.

If you are planning to host an event in the Church Zoom Room please contact Bubba at Administrator@SaltwaterChurch.org the week before your scheduled event. They will need to verify your device has been registered to use the Church Zoom Room. If you are planning to host an In Person event, please make sure you have made arrangements to access the building and disarm our security system.

Weekly

Meditation Group 

In Person - Welcoming Room

Tuesdays, 7:00pm - 8:15pm

During the summer months, we meet in person at Saltwater UU Church. If you are new to meditation this is a great opportunity to join as meditating is powerful when done with others. We start with Qigong movement, then sit for 20 minutes, walk for 10 minutes, sit for 20 minutes and drink tea, all in silence. Afterwards we have an opportunity to discuss a Zen message read at the beginning and end of our silence together.

Writers Group

Friends and visitors are welcome to any of our Tabletop Game Nights. We play all types of board games (ranging from lighter games like Clue to more complex games like Pandemic). Our group also plays thematic games, card games, and party & social games. Almost anything is possible, bring your favorite game to share. If you wish to try out a new game, we have a wide selection that will leave your brain and belly tired. Laughter and popcorn provided.

• 1st Saturdays are all-ages. Bring a game your whole family will enjoy!

Having a parent, partner, or adult child experiencing physical and/or mental health challenges requires so much from the caregiver — YOU need care and support too! Join Rev. Alison and other caregivers in our Saltwater UU Community to share the joys and sorrows of caregiving and to give and receive support with others who are also in this essential and tender role of caregiver. Community Potluck

1^st Sundays, 11:30am - 12:30pm

Plan to join us for a scrumptious all-church potluck on the first Sunday of every month. Please bring a generously sized dish to share and provide a label of ingredients for those with allergies and dietary restrictions. If you can, please plan to arrive before service and stay a bit afterwards to assist with set up and clean up. We are very happy to offer one of our favorite activities for fostering connection. Creative Hands Ministry

Creative Hands will begin meeting once a month on the second Tuesday of the month from 1:00 -3:00 pm in the Welcoming Room. A reminder will go out each month during the previous week to those who have attended at least once or indicate an interest in being included. Those planning to attend must reply by Sunday night before the Tuesday meeting. (If there are fewer than FOUR people planning to attend, the meeting will be canceled and Maria F will send out a message on Monday that we will not be meeting.) Additional Questions? Third Sundays Hike

3rd Sundays, 12:15pm-1:30pm

In Person - Saltwater State Park

In January, come on a walk with us. We will be headed on a hike down to the beach, depending on weather, we will head back up after a snack at the beach. Bring a sack lunch and we will arrange some rides depending on the needs. We will gather after the service to coordinate walking and/or carpooling to the beach. Questions? Tarot focused Chalice Circle

and click on "To join a meeting-click here." You may also visit the main church webpage, select Zoom Room from the drop down menu under "news and events" on the top menu bar. If this is your first time using Zoom, follow the prompts to download the application to your computer.

Childcare for Church Events 

Childcare may be requested for any church activity at least one week in advance by contacting our Director of Faith Formation, Jessica Nash, at faithformation@saltwaterchurch.org. We will do our best to make accommodations whenever possible.

Saltwater Church Building

The church building is open for in person gatherings. If you wish to plan an event please use our online request form: https://SaltwaterChurch.org/calendar/calendar-request/. All gatherings are asked to follow the current COVID-19 guidelines. Donations to Saltwater Church

When making a donation on the church website (click here), please indicate where you want your donation to go. After entering the amount of your donation, if you select "Donate with a Debit or Credit Card" you will see a line which starts with a pencil and has "add special instructions to the seller." Please click on those words to specify “pledge” or your desired purpose. It will help our treasurer get money into the right places if that line is filled in.
