OUR MISSION
For 30 years, photo l.a. has celebrated and brought together the photography / art community from around the world. It is with this mission that we present FOCUS photo l.a., a biannual competition open to help provide emerging and mid-career artists / photographers a platform to promote their work and expand their career opportunities.
THE COMPETITION
FOCUS photo l.a. is open to artists / photographers working in all themes, types, and genres of photography. Entrants can submit ten (10) photographs for consideration. Top 20 Finalists are determined by a panel of renowned art photography experts who will select the Top 20 photographers from the completed submissions.
All finalists will have his or her winning photograph professionally printed by our partner The Icon and expertly framed for live exhibition at a special Los Angeles pop-up!
All finalists will also be invited by our partner Open Show for the chance to present their projects at a special programming event during the Los Angeles exhibition ~ please note, final shortlist of artist talk presentations will be curated by organizers for scheduling purposes.
NEW IN 2021~ One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected from the Top 20 Finalists by the jury to receive a $1000 cash award!
Submissions are open to all Artists and Photographers working in all themes, types, and genres of photography. No original works will be exhibited.
