December 18, 2020

Greetings!

Please join us for "Starry Night" tomorrow night in Library Park. Starting at 4:30 p.m. on December 19, we'll have a luminary walk from Washington Street past the pond to the Gazebo, ending at the Library's front steps, where you can view our holiday wishing tree in the window. Holiday cheer at a safe social distance!

The next edition of the eNews will go out on Friday, January 8. Hope you and yours find many ways to celebrate the season!

Be well.

Every Gift Makes a Difference!

2020 has been a year filled with changes and challenges, but also an amazing opportunity to reinvent how we connect with our community. We've been amazed with the resilience on display by our patrons. We've also been humbled by all the messages of support as we've navigated a whole new way to provide library services. Our library draws 66% of our financial support from private funding and revenue sources. Your year-end gift helps us continue to innovate and connect with our local community, as well as community members who find themselves living elsewhere. Every gift is impactful. Every gift affirms the importance of Patten Free Library in your life and the lives of your neighbors.

Did you know that the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, enacted last spring, includes several temporary tax changes that help nonprofits? Cash donations of up to $300 made before December 31, 2020, are now deductible when people file their taxes in 2021.

You can make a gift by texting "read" to 207-739-4081, clicking the "Donate Now" button below, or mailing a check to Patten Free Library, Attn: Development Office, 33 Summer Street, Bath, Maine 04530. We also have some matching funds available for anyone who establishes a monthly gift. The impact of your monthly gift will be doubled and recognized in our Annual Report at the matched amount.

Thank you for your enduring support. Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year!
