Our Two-Minute Timeout

With only one week left in our first semester, we have entered the two-minute timeout period. Our teachers are writing reports, calculating grades, and tying up the loose ends of lessons. Our students are studying for tests and exams, finalizing projects, and planning their upcoming sleep schedules.

The newish rule giving college football teams an extra timeout with two minutes left in the half is designed to give teams a strategic pause before the last two minutes of play. In our case, it gives Trident Academy’s teachers and administrators a chance to look at the progress students have made and make plans for the second half of the year, sometimes tweaking content, other times moving boldly forward in the curriculum. Both of these entities (football teams and classroom groups) use the time to assess the changes needed to finish strong.

That’s exactly what we are doing at Trident Academy. We are nearly midway through the year, and we will finish this first half strong!

Have a great weekend!

Blessings,

Betsy

Attendance

Trident Academy is built on the belief that there's no substitute for professional, thoughtful instruction, and for that reason, daily attendance is essential.

We have only 5 school days left this quarter. Because each day's lesson builds directly on the previous one, missing even a single day puts a heavy burden on the student. While our teachers work hard to help students catch up, they must essentially learn yesterday's material while keeping pace with today's.

Please make every effort to ensure your child is in school and on time every day. We want all our students to finish this semester strong!

Uniforms!
As the weather continues to cool off in Charleston, some of our students may want to get Trident Academy sweaters and jackets to wear during outside time. In addition, as our students have grown since the start of school, several of them have begun to outgrow their shirts, shorts, and skirts. To purchase Trident Academy gear, please visit our school spirit store here >> Trident Academy Gear

Re-Enrollment Period: February 2026

To help with your family's financial planning, here's a reminder that re-enrollment for 2025-26 will begin in February 2026. Associated with re-enrollment is a $1,000 enrollment fee, which will be credited to your child's tuition account for next school year.

WHAT'S HAPPENING ON CAMPUS:

Our students traded the classroom for the great outdoors this week at Caw Caw Interpretive Center! They enjoyed a nature walk exploring different habitats, followed by some field science. In the lab, students dug through marsh water to find plants, fish, and bugs, then analyzed their discoveries under the microscope and identified them using our Charleston marsh and swamp guidebooks!

History came to life at our Lower School Wax Museum today! Our students have been working diligently researching historical figures from American history. Today, each student transformed into their chosen person, dressed in full costume, and delivered a wonderful report to visiting families and our high school students.

Our middle schoolers enjoyed a special presentation, learning all about the traditions of Hanukkah thanks to 7th grader Jules and his family! They learned about why the menorah is lit, the delicious traditional foods eaten, and even learned how to play the game of dreidel! Thank you to Jules and his family for sharing with us!

Our 8th graders spent the day immersed in local history and culture at The Charleston Museum! This field trip provided a fantastic opportunity for them to explore exhibits, connect with local history, and deepen their understanding of our unique Lowcountry heritage.
