SPRING INTO CREATIVITY

Poetry, Art and Inspiration at A&C

Our First Thursday on April 2nd was a wonderful evening of poetry and prose thanks to our four fabulous writers: Joseph Chelius, Lynn Fanok, Kevin Kaiser and VA Smith.

April 27th marks our ongoing joint venture with the Lower Southampton Library (Feasterville) in celebration of National Poetry Month with our exciting poets: Cheryl Baldi, Alison Bessedotter, Chris Darrah, Elizabeth Esris, Bernadette McBride, Christine McKee, Jane Mohler, Steve Nolan, Ellen Slack, Marie Wise and Bill Wunder.

30 Days of Inspiration, in its sixth year, continues to draw large crowds and much enjoyment for the incredible pairing of art and poems. It is truly one of our highlights and not to be missed. The best part? It leads up to our May 7th First Thursday which will feature four of the pairings where poet and artist share their secrets with us! Join us at Freeman Hall, 181 East Court Street, Doylestown at 7:00pm to see and hear the art and poetry of:

Bernadette McBride and Thomas Mallon

Christine McKee and Elissa Goldberg

Joanne Leva and Tracy Fitzgerald

Tom Mallouk and Barbara Martin

As always, this will be followed by a relaxed discussion and light refreshments.

SPRING EXHIBITION 2026

Announcing the Award Winners

The exhibition opened on Saturday, April 11, with an afternoon reception featuring award presentations and delicious food. The show will run weekends through April 26. It is always a pleasure to stage an exhibition in the beautiful, historic Freeman Hall.

The juror Lou Schellenberg gave us the following note along with juror statements for each winning piece. “A use of strong formal elements, suggestion of strong observation and the artwork evoking emotion informed my decisions.”
