Southbound Dyer Road Loop Off-Ramp

The off-ramp and inside lane are expected to close as soon as 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13 and reopen to motorists by 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23.

Coming Soon! Northbound SR-55 Traffic Shift

WHAT:

Crews are preparing to begin work to reconstruct the center median of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5, for the addition of a new carpool (HOV) lane. This will require nighttime closures to restripe northbound (NB) SR-55 and shift traffic towards the newly paved outside lanes of the freeway.

As part of the traffic shift, the NB McFadden Avenue on-ramp will be permanently restriped to eliminate weaving and merging conflicts on NB SR-55. Once the new configuration is in place, the McFadden on-ramp will provide access to NB I-5 only.

WHEN:

Crews are expected to begin restriping the freeway and setting concrete barriers for the traffic shift as early as late October.

About the Project

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
