COLLABORATIONS CORNER
The UNBC Agriculture Research Network Pilot Project aims to build regional, producer-led applied research within the agriculture sector. UNBC alumnus Serena Black is UNBC’s Agriculture Extension Specialist. Recent interest in climate change adaptation, local food security, and community-based economic development created opportunities to expand agricultural research initiatives in Northern BC. Current projects range from crop feasibility trials, vegetable variety trials, provincial weather station gap analysis, provincial database infrastructure development, and agroforestry. Black is always looking for ways to connect students to local agriculture initiatives. UNBC and CNC are pleased to work with local business in many different ways.

Frankie Albano
Frankie received his designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) in 2012 after earning a BComm degree from UNBC with double majors in accounting and finance. Frankie enjoys supporting up-and-coming students by helping coach the current UNBC JDC West Tax Team, which is a regional business competition within universities.
Committed to providing personalized assurance and consulting services, Frankie takes pride in helping his clients improve their operations. He applies his experience in cash flow analysis, audit and review engagements, compilation engagements and valuation services to provide his clients with suitable options so they can make informed decisions. Frankie helps organizations solve their compliance needs while helping them overcome operational challenges, minimize risk and identify opportunities for efficiency and growth. Frankie works closely with his clients to ease any concerns and helps them understand their financial and tax situations and apply them to their business and personal goals.
Frankie was appointed to the Board by President, Cindi Pohl in the spring of 2015 and is active on the Chamber's Service Delivery and Finance Committees. In his down time, Frankie enjoys spending time with his loving wife Natasha, daughter Briella and two dogs, Kapo and Ema. Frankie and Natasha are excited to welcome their new addition to the family in the spring of 2018.
