One Water is a Winner!

The first week of February, the MWMC team, represented by Loralyn Spiro, accepted a National Environmental Achievement Award at the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) winter conference.

The MWMC received this award in the Public Information & Education: E-Media category for our One Water video and digital campaign.

Together, the One Water video, webpage, social media posts, education curriculum, and graphics educate and engage our region on the importance of our urban water systems and how they all function to benefit people and the planet.

MWMC in Salem: Water Day at the Capitol

On February 2nd, team members from the MWMC joined fellow municipalities, water conservation organizations, and legislators for Water Day at the Oregon State Capitol.

From our team, Emily Bradley, Todd Miller, and Bryan Robinson participated in a morning "lightning talk" presentation on sustainability efforts including Water Reuse and Biosolids Management efforts at our regional wastewater treatment facility.

Pollution Solutions

Can I flush wipes that are marketed as "flushable"?

Unfortunately, product packaging labels can sometimes be misleading.

The reality is that even wipes and other products labeled "flushable" clog our pumps and pipes and are therefore a big challenge for our wastewater treatment process! Since wipes clog pipes, please throw them in the trash.
