Men of Simplicity
Launch - Success!
The first official Men of Simplicity (MOS) meetings were a huge success! There were 23 men in attendance on Zoom at the Sunday night group with Open Door Baptist Church. On Monday night, a total of 97 men from nine different churches/groups were in attendance. 49 of those were meeting in small groups in six different locations connecting via Zoom and 71 guys joined individually from their homes on Zoom. That means 120 men were able to hear Mike Thibodeaux’s first message called “A Man’s Ambition.” This message, taken from 2 Corinthians 5:6-10, focuses on the truth that the ambition of ambassadors for Christ is to be pleasing to Him. Mike challenged the men with these questions: “Do you have godly ambition?” and “What degree of difficulty are you willing to endure to live a life that is pleasing (acceptable) to the Lord?”

The message is timely. Circumstances during our launch and first month of MOS included the coronavirus pandemic and widespread local wildfires. Because of the fires and evacuations, four of the six men in the Estacada MOS group were unable to attend the first meeting. Gathering as the church has been difficult and remains so. But, we press on! We are using the technological tools we have available to continue the weekly discipling and equipping process of 139 men (total enrolled) to live simply and purely devoted to Christ. Mike is eager to resume his traveling preaching ministry, but until then, faithfully preaches through other means.  We appreciate your prayers for our ministry.
Heal Our Land

The Heal Our Land virtual prayer gatherings allow Simplicity Ministries® partners from across the country to pray together using the technology of Zoom. Will you participate? Join us for a time of worship, prayer, and fellowship at 6:00pm (Pacific) on October 8th and October 29th.

Can You Help?
Can you help us catch up in the 4th quarter with a one-time gift or by becoming a monthly partner?
Much has changed since March of 2020: mask wearing, social distancing, and many working and schooling from home to name a few. For me, I have not traveled to preach at a ministry event since March of this year. It’s understandable. Churches have started re-opening only in the past month or so with in person services. However, I miss preaching at the various ministry events that were the pre-pandemic norm. I miss the partnership with pastors and leaders. I miss the fellowship with students and adults. I miss preaching in front of an “in person” crowd. I miss the spiritual invitations at the close of the services with people who are humble and broken being saved and getting right with God. I have always preached on a simple “love offering” basis. However, with no events, we have been in the red (negative) by $3,646 in the 2nd quarter and $2,059 in the 3rd quarter. Can you help us catch up in the 4th quarter with a one-time gift or by becoming a monthly partner?  Click on the "GIVE NOW" button below to give securely through our website. Any gift will help! Thank you! - Mike
Intern Perspective: One Step at a Time
(by Jordan Thibodeaux)
Men of Simplicity (MOS) just launched with 120 men attending the first meeting. MOS is a massive project that takes so much organization, follow-up, and preparation. At times, the amount of work to be done can feel overwhelming. But around here, I’m learning that a task like this can be accomplished if it is done one step at a time. Our to-do list is divided and sub-divided into the many, smaller tasks that it takes to finish the main job. One of those smaller tasks by itself might seem unimportant, but unless it gets checked off, it is impossible to call the larger, main job complete.

I was thinking this week that this concept applies to our walk as believers. God’s goal for each of us is that we grow to be more and more like Christ. That is one overwhelming task! However, our Heavenly Father does not ask us to do this all at once. Rather, He calls us to go one step further each day. He asks us for one new step of obedience. One step outside of our comfort zone. One more step in the race “for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14) By themselves, these small steps may seem insignificant or unimportant. But God sees how each small step is bringing us closer to the finish line.

For me, this internship is a step in my journey to becoming who God wants me to be. I am so grateful for everyone who has supported the Simplicity Ministries® internship program and has helped to make this step possible for me.
