Three Travelers Achieve
TRAVEL WALL OF FAME Status
| |
Congratulations are extended to:
BOB & JUDY SHAFFSTALL
Fairview, TX
PATTY TAYLOR
Odessa, FL
In recognition of their achievement each receives:
- A special TRAVEL WALL OF FAME savings on all future FEATURE TRAVEL experiences
- A certificate suitable for framing attesting to their accomplishment
- A leather passport wallet for use in all future travels
- A photo added to our TRAVEL WALL OF FAME
Our TRAVEL WALL OF FAME is a group of more than 1,500 intrepid travelers that have "gone away" with us on five or more of our limited series of Please Go Away™ Vacations specially -crafted personally hosted group FEATURE TRAVEL experiences throughout the world. The FEATURE TRAVEL designation results from the fact "special features" are included that are not normally found in competing programs.
These special experiences give credence to the fact that the name of a travel experience does not define the experience - what is included defines the experience.
Special Note: The record for having "gone away" with us the most on qualifying TWOF tours is held by two amazing individuals. Both have "gone away" with us on more than seventy (70) FEATURE TRAVEL experiences. There are others close behind. Think of the travel memories that have been made and shared that will never be forgotten.

"Hamilton" a Highlight - Your Second Chance!
Our recent AMERCA'S 250TH BIRTHDAY personally hosted and value-added "Feature Travel" tour has returned.
Exceptional praise has been received for the many included historical events and locations that played important roles in the founding of our nation.
Special praise was received for the included "Feature Bonus" of reserved seats for the Broadway play "Hamilton" that served as the historic highlight "bow on the package" of experiences enjoyed.
Here's your second chance:
- Several spaces have opened on our March "Feature Travel" BEST OF THE BIG APPLE personally hosted group departure.
- One of the greatest cities in the world - New York City - will be experienced in depth.
- Once again, reserved seats for the Broadway production of "Hamilton" are included as a "Feature Bonus."
"Hamilton" is much more than a history lesson. It combines powerful storytelling, unforgettable music, and spectacular stagecraft into one of the most acclaimed Broadway productions ever created.

Special Report! People are Traveling in Ever-Increasing Numbers
According to the International Trade Administration's estimate, more than 56 million U.S. residents traveled overseas last year, up from roughly 53.7 million in 2024 and around 32.7 million 10 years earlier.
- Of that, a record high of nearly 24 million traveled to Europe last year - the largest share going to the United Kingdom (we have a "Feature Travel" opportunity in 2027), Italy (we had a "Feature Travel" opportunity earlier this year), or France.
- Older travelers, in the 55-64 age range and above, led the pack, followed by the youngest jet-setters, aged 18-24.
- Passport growth also supports this travel trend. The U.S. issued a record-shattering 27.3 million passports in fiscal year 2025.
- Older travelers generally view oversees travel as a reward for their hard work and economic prowess while members of younger generations are placing travel above traditional life milestones. "They are seeing travel as a better use of the money than going out and buying shiny new stuff", says Rich Harrill, the director of the University of South Carolina's International Tourism Research Institute.
People are traveling - let's visit - no obligation.

Hey Gals - "Go Away Gertie" Here
It's a given - statistics can be boring!
But, gals once again you need to put on your "brave boots" and listen to these numbers. They are anything but boring!
Let me be clear! l "am not" preaching to the great number of you gals who are already traveling. I most definitely "am" preaching to you gals who are not traveling. Listen up!
- Women over 50 are one of the fastest-growing segments in both solo and group travel.
-
Women make the majority of travel decisions, with studies estimating that about 80-82% of travel decisions are made by women.
-
Women account for a large share of travelers globally, with some industry reports estimating that around 64% of travelers are women.
- Solo female travel has grown significantly over the last decade.
-
Luxury travel network Virtuoso reported that women now make up 71% of solo travelers in its trends.
-
Adventure travel is also seeing greater female participation, with women accounting for more than half of bookings with some adventure travel companies.
So gals, whether you want to:
- Share accommodations by taking advantage of our no cost "Special Singles Service"
- Bring along your friends or family members to travel with you
- Travel independently or with a group

What Our Travelers Are Saying
CYNTHIA SULLIVAN - Lawrence, KS
Paula, thank you so much for letting us know all of the ramifications in this matter. I appreciate you very much.
JUDY & BOB SHAFFSTALL - Fairview, TX
We appreciate the time and care Please Go Away affords its travelers when planning trips. We know we can always count on the company to be honest and reliable in all their dealings. I think the hotels and group meals on this recent trip were absolutely the best of the five feature trips we have been on.
TITUS KIVUYO - Kenya & Tanzania, East Africa
Please Go Away™ Vacations' Preferred Safari Host
Hi Paula. I hope this email finds you well. The group is doing very well, absolutely enjoying every moment of it. We have been lucky with game sightseeing, lots of lions in the Serengeti and saw a tail end of the migration not far from our camp. Today was a big cat day, 7 cheetahs and 1 leopard up a tree. The highlight was 4 lions taking down a Cape buffalo, to be able to see this in person was quite extraordinary. I was able to get TADEY as my driver guide, the group is just loving the experience!

This Month's Travel Trivia
Question:
- What is cruising's "new plate" rule?
Answer:
- When you cruise it's almost a certainty that taking part in the multiple offered opportunities to enjoy buffet dining will be enjoyed. When you go back for the almost certain "seconds" the cruise line wants you to select a new plate. It's all part of cruising's commitment to avoid health challenges of any sort.

Rodin's "Thinker" Suggests You Think About This ...
Don't Wait Too Late - Part 1
In 2015 the writer of this monthly electronic travel magazine -TRAVELzine - wrote and published a book entitled,
HOW TO TRAVEL THE WORLD
Instead of having to say, "I wish I would have."
The book chronicles more than 50 years of travel experiences around the world. Rather than focusing on successes, it shares travel mistakes, lessons learned, and insights gained while building an award-winning travel business. Readers are encouraged to travel and pursue their dreams instead of later regretting missed opportunities.
It is less a travel guide and more a memoir about using travel to enrich your life.
Following are several "takeaways" from the book's pages. More will be in the "Thinker's" thoughts next month.
-
DON'T POSTPONE YOUR DREAMS - A central message is that many people want to travel but keep delaying it. Readers are encouraged to travel when they can, rather than reaching later years with regrets and saying, "I wish I would have" - sad words of travel exceeded only by the even sadder words, "I wish we would have."
-
MISTAKES ARE PART OF THE JOURNEY - By actual examples of multiple mistakes made the premise is created that travel mistakes are inevitable and often become valuable learning experiences. Rather than fearing errors, travelers should view them as opportunities that can lead to growth, confidence, and better future experiences.
-
FEAR SHOULD NOT PREVENT TRAVEL - Many people avoid travel because the unknown feels intimidating. The book urges that uncertainty and apprehension are normal, but they should not stop someone from experiencing the world.
-
ORDINARY PEOPLE CAN SEE THE WORLD - The story begins in a small Midwestern town and demonstrates that extensive world travel is not limited to the wealthy, famous, or exceptionally adventurous. With commitment and planning, travel can become a realistic goal.
If a trip won't take food from your table or
shelter from your head, find a way to go.
Think about it!
