TIDE Celebrates Pride Month
June is Pride Month which celebrates the LGBTQ community. The community has had an arduous history of many decades of struggle to overcome prejudice and be accepted for who they are. To foster an inclusive work environment, it is imperative that our industry embraces differences in race, ethnicity, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, economic status, and other diverse backgrounds. Love is love. ❤️

And I quote - "Wow"... "Impressive". I'll leave the details for those who attended to share with you - although, I believe NDA's were signed... :) But, yes, we rocked ATX this past weekend!

TIDE Supports SB 890
In collaboration with New America Alliance, which is spearheaded by Solange Brooks (formerly with CalSTRS), TIDE wrote a letter of support for SB 890. SB 890 proposes to reinstate a mandate for CalSTRS and CalPERS to report to the Legislature their usage of emerging and diverse managers in administering their investments. The bill was passed in the Assembly policy committee without opposition. It also passed the Assembly fiscal committee. It is now going through the Senate and hopefully onto the Governor's desk. Non-Profit Highlight of the Month
Female caddies are now more common but this cohort needs to be supported. As the Chairwoman of the Trust puts it, “the confidence it takes to introduce yourself to four middle-aged men at a country club as a 16-year-old girl is the same confidence required to walk into an interview at 22.”

City of San José hiring Senior Retirement Investment Officer, Office of Retirement Services in San Jose, California. The Office of Retirement Services (ORS) oversees the investment of assets and administers the benefits of the two Defined Benefit Retirement Plans for City of San Jose employees. The assets of the two plans total over $6 billion. As of June 30, 2020, there were over 6,800 retirees and beneficiaries, and nearly 7,400 active, inactive and deferred vested member in the two retirement plans. Each of the retirement plans has a Board of Administration that has fiduciary responsibility over their respective retirement plan. ORS staff has accountability to them as well as City Administration.
