Buyer Beware: Windows 11 Is Here
Over the past few weeks we have seen quite a few people purchase their own equipment and wind up with Windows 11 devices. This is something that potential buyers (whether for home or business) should be aware of.
What's the big deal?
We've covered this a bit in a previous edition, but Windows 11 is VERY new. That means that those using it are essentially the guinea pigs who Microsoft hopes to collect issue information from. Unfortunately, this means that not all programs will work with the new operating systems and there's a much higher than normal chance that the only resolution for an issue may be to wait for a Microsoft patch to come through the updates.
If the computer is strictly for home use and will not be needed to remote into a work network, the potential for issue is likely to be smaller as there will not be line of business applications that could run into issues, so Windows 11 may be viable for those working with home-only PCs.
We do advise all business users to stick with Windows 10 wherever possible at this time, however, in order to prevent issues. So if you happen to be in the market for a new computer, make sure you check the OS (operating system) that the device will come with.
