Holidays are just around the corner and we are excited to announce that we are bringing back the KRS Holiday Shop! On December 7th/8th, students will have the chance to purchase holiday gifts for friends and family. Gift order/permission slips will be sent home this week.

We ask that everyone please send back completed forms by November 9th regardless of participation. We can't wait to get in the holiday spirit and practice the gift of giving!

Half Day Snack

Half day conference days are coming which means PTO half day snack days. Visit — and order for the upcoming November half days. All snacks will be delivered to your child in their classroom for them to enjoy.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Kings Road School Student Council will be leading its first initiative this year, a Thanksgiving food drive to benefit the patients of the Overlook Medical Center Health Start Clinic. We are fortunate that one of our second grade parents, Erin Donadio, is a volunteer at this clinic and will be helping facilitate this food drive. If you would like more information on the project, feel free to email her directly: Erin.Donadio@gmail.com

In order to streamline the collection we are asking each grade to donate a specific item.

  • Kindergarten: Box(es) of Mac and Cheese
  • 1st Grade: Boxes of Stuffing
  • 2nd Grade: Packets (envelopes) of gravy mix.
  • 3rd Grade: Packets (envelopes) of instant oatmeal.
  • 4th Grade: Boxes of instant mashed potatoes.
  • 5th Grade: Canned Vegetables

Items can be brought to your child’s homeroom teacher. Please deliver all items no later than Monday, November 14th. The grade that collects the highest number of items will receive a special prize!

KRS Book Fair

Save the date for our Fall Book Fair, which will be happening on November 21st and 22nd, More details to come.

Using Amazon Smile to Support KRS

When you shop using AmazonSmile, you'll find the same Amazon storefront you know and love, with the added bonus that AmazonSmile will donate a portion of the eligible purchase price to Kings Road School, at no additional cost.

Volunteer Love

Thank you to the incredible Teacher Love committee: Erin Donadio and Suzanne Jacobson, for waking up bright and early on the day after Halloween to provide breakfast for all teachers and staff from Butter and Jam because Halloweeen…on a Monday.

Thank you to all the families who donated gift cards for our teachers in September. Our amazing VPs Katie Zurich and Tammy de Freitas were able to spread some love to the teachers on Tuesday, November 1st using our PTO Kindness cart. Each teacher received a piece of fruit and a gift card. What a nice surprise on a sleepy day.

Thank you to Nisha Patel for leading the charge for Square 1 Art.

Thank you to Melissa Chaput, our room parent coordinator, all room parents and all parent volunteers who came in on Halloween to help with our class parties. So much fun was had by all!
