Celebrate National Lobster Day With a Lobster Roll in Orange County

Lobster rolls are a widely popular sandwich in Maine and Connecticut, where locals savor the freshest caught crustaceans of the day. The classic Connecticut version is served chilled with a mixture of mayonnaise and lemon, and Maine’s version is served hot and with drawn butter and lemon.

In anticipation of National Lobster Day (Sept. 25), Culture OC interviewed Logan Kock, chief sustainability officer of Santa Monica Seafood (SMS), a popular seafood market and restaurant located in Santa Monica and Costa Mesa, for insight into lobster’s resurging popularity.

Pacific Wine and Food Classic Returns to Newport Dunes, Showcasing Orange County Cuisine

Few places allow locals to sample Orange County cuisine quite like the Pacific Wine and Food Classic.

Held at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina, this picturesque event sets the scene for a day of bold bites and scintillating sips by the beach. As your eyes scan the vibrant blue waters of the Back Bay and the sun shines overhead, wander the many tables and booths to eat and drink your way through California without ever leaving Newport Beach.
