As part of the Independence Mission School (IMS) network, OMSSI offers a high-quality, faith-based education in a safe and loving environment, welcoming families of all faiths. MTM has been involved with OMSSI for 3 years, serving their 4th to 6th graders.

Principal Joseph Mock says, "our MTM classes help change the culture of our school. Their mission aligns with my vision as principal. As educators in today's challenging world, we need to teach skills for our minds and hearts to be healthy. Our Mother of Sorrows/St. Ignatuis, Independent Mission School, thrives on creating Strong Minds and Loving Hearts."

Mindfulness & Wellness for Educators: A Professional Development Session

On March 17th, MTM held a Professional Development session for OMSSI faculty. This interactive two-hour session was designed to equip teachers and staff with practical mindfulness tools to enhance well-being and classroom presence. Through guided breathing exercises, movement practices, and meditation, participants learned techniques to manage stress, improve focus, and foster a calm learning environment. With a focus on real-world application, this session encouraged self-care while offering strategies to integrate mindfulness into daily teaching. Follow-up sessions will provide ongoing support and deeper exploration of wellness practices, helping educators cultivate resilience and emotional balance in their personal and professional lives.
