Greetings!

Welcome to this glorious spring!

Are you feeling a bit weary and wanting some renewal?
I invite you to join me this summer in New Mexico for a deep, restorative retreat, Sight and Insight: A Contemplative Nature Immersion in northeast New Mexico at the Ocamora Retreat Center, Ocate, NM July 7 - 12, 2024.

Unwind, renew your spirit and immerse yourself in an exceptionally beautiful place as you deepen your connection to the natural world. We will use deep land-based contemplative practices, meditations and some imaginal "dreaming" to see the beauty that surrounds us and reflect on how it touches and moves our psyches. We will lightly play with some art making and simple, short landscape poetry to express what moves us. The program is designed upon principles of EcoTherapy and EcoPsychology. There will be plenty of time to meander in a sacred place and reconnect to nature and your Self. The program includes a daylong solo time (adjustable to individual needs) on the land in mindful silence. Come delight in a landscape that is on the edge of wilderness with an astonishing big star filled night sky!

Ocamora is a special place with rustic yet elegant accomodations, a spacious art studio, meditation hall, sweet places to gather, hot tub and 265 acres of pristine land in the foothills of the San de Cristo mountains. The quiet is deep, the air is clear, and everything is alive!

While you will have plenty of time for self-reflection, the group is always warm and welcoming and we have fun making art, telling stories, listening to dreams, and enjoying this magnificent and magical land.

Many attendees like to schedule a little time on either end of the retreat to enjoy Santa Fe or Taos. Arrival at Ocamora is late afternoon on Sunday, we will end with lunch on Friday.
We do our best to help coordinate ridesharing.

Jan Edl Stein, MFT will be your guide through the retreat with some assistance from Diane Haug, LPCC.

The S’alka Way: A Retreat with Don Américo Yábar

This is a rare opportunity to share the wisdom of Peruvian mystic, don Américo Yábar in a rare USA visit in a 3 night/4 day residential retreat. For a unique connection with the teachings from the ancient Andean tradition and with ‘S’alka’. “The S’alka is a unique teaching in that it blossomed from the heart of the Andes, is resonant with the Andean culture, but is in no way an imitation of those indigenous traditions,” says don Américo. “One might say it is a path inspired by the heart of the Andean tradition. However, it is also resonant with the great insights of other heart-based traditions of the world, distilling into practical, somatic, and energetic transmissions a transformational or transfigurational experience.”
