Children, Youth and Family Newsletter 2026-2027 School Year Opportunities

As we officially embark on this new chapter for Prince of Peace, CYF MInistry will stay most "as-is" for now. As we go through this year Pastor Ben will be able to get a first hand look at Prince of Peace and become a presence in our ministry areas when he is available. With that, if and when changes are made they will always be communicated with as much advanced warning as possible.

HERE is a CURRENT Schedule for the ENTIRE YEAR. I will break it down by season, starting in September. More events will be added and finalized as the months go on, but here are the weekly meeting days/times. SOME Days may change as we approach them, but all changes will be communicated with as much as advance notice as we can

CHILDRENS Ministry (PreK - 5th Grade)

FALL STRUCTURE

Childrens Ministry will continue to meet during worship. We will leave after the Childrens Message and return to worship after the Sermon. We will continue to follow the lectionary text, so your young people will be hearing and digging into the same text that is being preached on. We will also be bringing music BACK and plan to sing in Church for more than just the Christmas program and Palm Sunday.

NEW THIS YEAR (Test Period through November)

We acknowledge that Sunday mornings can be difficult sometimes due to Sports, Vacations or other commitments. Therefore, we are going to add a Childrens Ministry opportunity on Wednesday evenings. During our Middle/High School ministry time, a learning opportunity will be available that will be similar to what we did on Sunday morning. PLEASE NOTE: For now this will be PARENT LED as a lesson plan will be provided for the parent/child to do together. Our preference is still that your priority for Childrens Ministry remains on Sunday mornings.

GATHERING TOGETHER

We will also be adding in some "Parents Day/Night Out Events" as well as events where we will invite the whole family (Corn Maze, ADVenture Party, etc). Those events will always be communicated at the beginning of each month.

MIDDLE SCHOOL MINISTRY (6th - 8th Grade)

FALL STRUCTURE

Middle School Ministry will continue to meet on Wednesday nights in a combination of Large Group/Small Group lessons and discussion times. Our time together will be spent digging into the scripture text from the previous Sunday so that we can work towards applying scripture to our daily lives. We will also incorporate Service Events, Fellowship Events and Worship Components into our Wednesday evenings.

Traditional Confirmation elements, such as learning the 10 Commandments, Lords Prayer, etc will be presented in retreat or class form and will be communicated ahead of time.

GATHERING TOGETHER

ln following with the trend of last School Year we will be continuing with games nights every couple of months in addition to other events that will happen OUTSIDE of the Church building. Friends are always welcome and highly encouraged at these events.

HIGH SCHOOL MINISTRY (9th - 12th Grade

FALL STRUCTURE

High School Ministry will be our BIGGEST CHANGE for this school year as we are going to move HIgh School Ministry BACK to Wednesday nights. Some of our time will be spent with the MIddle School students, while other times will be spent on our own. This will allow us to gather together on a regular basis to grow in our relationships with one another.

GATHERING TOGETHER

This Fall we are going to put an emphasis on showing up for each other, so if you are in sports or a musical or something that spectators can be a part of - let us know and we will do our best to show up for you. Our High Schoolers will also be a part of fellowship events that our Middle School Ministry will be doing.

REGISTRATION

While High School Ministry does not have as much "structure" as our other areas, we would still appreciate your help in gathering information about your child. This information will help us better serve them when they are here, but will also allow us to meet them where they are when they are NOT at Church. While there is no official "FEE" for High School Ministry (with the exception of paying for individual events as needed) free will donations are always accepted as well as snacks for a "snack corner". CHILDREN, YOUTH and FAMILY FEE PAYMENT
The 2026-2027 FEE for Children, Youth and Family is $50/participant in Preschool - 8th Grade (Families of High School Students please see above). You can pay your fee by Cash or Check (written to Prince of Peace) on any Sunday in September OR you can pay using our online giving.

We have added a few different electronic giving options, and they can be found HERE. Please make sure to add your family/child name in any memo spot AND please send a copy of the electronic receipt to Katie

MILESTONE MINISTRY

Milestones are a very important part of what we do here at Prince of Peace. While our ultimate goal is to create a Milestone for every grade level, we are not there...YET. However, we do have a large range of Milestones that will happen throughout the year. HERE is a rundown of our 26-27 Milestone Schedule.
